Advice on Spacers

My 2022 X3MC should arrive the first week of February. I am torn on wheel spacers, though. I THINK I would like 15mm in the back and 12mm in the front but wonder if 15mm on all 4 wheels would be better. Any pros and cons to either choice? I cannot stand the way the wheels look stock, I don't know why BMW didn't do better in that regard.

Will this be on lowering springs? I went with 12 mm square on my X3M since it is stock height

A bunch of research and 3 years of bitching on this forum has shown that 12 all around is optimal.

I've heard that 12mm is a pretty good route to go too.

Anyone find that spacers are sandblasting the paint behind the wheels? This paint doesn’t need any help separating from the sheet metal. The possible chipping is why I haven’t put on spacers.

I had this same fear. And that's why I had some Xpel PPF installed & put the OEM mud flaps on to prevent this from happening.

I originally was going to do 12mm, but IND talked me into 15mm since they were in stock and the 12mm weren't at the time. In the front they're a tad too much for my preference but in the rear you could almost do more.

Thanks for the input, I think you all have convinced me to do 12 all around (now lowering springs). If I do 12, does anyone think I will get the paint blasting, etc.?

You will get some paint blasting even with no spacers, unless you do PPF and/or mud flaps...
Sticky tires, and aggressive rocker/body lines, it just happens.

Here is the link to my post from many many years ago about wheel spacers.
Many has followed my recommendation.

Thank you for posting this. The 11-12 mm spacers look perfect. In the future I'm going to probably run a full square setup. Meaning I'll have the 1/2' winder rear wheels on the front too. Just wondering what size spacer I'll need for clearance up there in the front.

Let me know the wheel and tire specs and I'll do the math.

They're the OEM X3 MC wheels (style 765M) that I'll be buying two more of. Just two more rear to stick on the front for more grip.

There’s a few threads on this. eBay has some specific for the X3M. The OEM may be for the M40 but fit. And there’s Tommy L's thin mudflaps

PM me or email me your plan on the tire size.

Do you have any kind of paint blasting? I don't see mud guards in your pics. I LOVE the way 15 all around looks!

Maybe a bit more but nothing major. If I had to change the setup I would keep 15 in front and go to 12 in the back
