2019 30i lag

We have a 2019 X3 30i x-drive and have loved the car. One thing we have always noticed is the lag from takeoff or if we floor it in comfort mode. The lag is still present in sport mode, but the transmission down shifts a little faster. The vehicle has 70k miles on it now and the lag "seems" more pronounced. The main concern is that my wife has had a couple circumstances where she has pulled into traffic and the car delayed acceleration 2-3 seconds and scared her. Has anyone had the same issue and found any solutions that improve it? I assume that a flash could improve it, but wanted to see if any other solutions have been identified. I am going to check the spark plugs to make sure they are in good condition just to be sure. It honestly could be that we have simply adapted to how responsive our M40i is making the 3.0i seem like a dog. She swears it is worse, but I seem to recall that it has always been slow from a start. I don't drive it that often, because well, I have a M40i. Thanks…

My 2019 X3 30i has none of these symptoms.....no lag or hesitation whatsoever. Here's an article that might help. With 70k miles, assume you have had a recent tune.....plugs changed?

I also own a 2019 X3 30i x-drive and just returned from a 4500 mile trip which included numerous opportunities to 'step on it' for a high speed pass. Virtually all was done in Comfort mode and I never experienced any scroll-up lag. In fact I was very pleased at how responsive it handled in those situations. Are you consistently using at least 91 octane gas?

We use exclusively Costco 93 octane, so I doubt it is the fuel. I plan to check the spark plugs and reset the computer first and see what happens.

It really seems like the computer is processing for a second or two, down shifts and then accelerates like it should. It pulls well once it gets going, just delays action for a couple seconds from a stop or from a roll. It is slightly better in sport mode.

Thank you. This a good workflow for troubleshooting. I prefer to do my own work.

What is the exact scenario that this is happening? Is it from a dead stop? Or, like when you're braking/coasting to a stop and then right before you stop, you get on the gas right away? Turning/wheel turned, or going straight?

Have you thought about a Dtuk Pedalbox?
I've just installed one in my m40d and it makes a pronounced difference to throttle response

This happens consistently anytime that the accelerator pedal is pushed rapidly. It happens from a start or a roll.

We all drive differently. Some memebers here forget that there is a difference between the tune and engine in the 30i vs M40i and/or other engines/tunes.

Mine is a 2018 30i xDrive. I think I'm experiencing the same behavior, although right from the start of ownership. Now 60k km on the clock. What you are describing happens when pressing the pedal hard, but not necessarily to the point of kick-down. It you apply pressure constantly (doesn't have to be gently, but not hard either), all is fine.

If this just started, then maybe something went wrong ?
