It's strange - after almost a 60 mile drive , my x3 decied not to start after tank fill up at a gas station. I yesterday.had to put it up on a dolly ( Thanks AAA) to put it in on my drive way

Pressing Ignition - would start dash lights but won't crank. I can hear gas coming in .

I am not jumping into the conclusion that it's bad gas and hope it's just the starter fuse.

Any one knows the fuse location or a reference?

It's not bad gas if the starter doesn't turn the motor. The usual suspects would be a bad alternator or bad battery. Check the battery voltage. It it is ok, then it's neither of the above.

My guess is the battery....how old is it? Also check the condition of the serpentine belt, if that is slipping (or gone) the alternator wont charge the battery properly.

If it won't crank then it's likely the battery doesnt' have enough voltage or the starter motor is bad.

If you've never changed the battery and your car is a 2011, it's likely the battery has gone bad and it's time for a new battery.

You didn't get the AAA guy to try to jump start it to see if the starter motor was working?

Battery replaced last year... Yep, AAA guys tried jump starting it too.

Still possible battery is bad or alternator is bad. Would suggest measuring voltage on battery.

If battery and alternator is good and still no crank, could be bad starter motor or selnoid or blown fuse.

Did you check for codes? Even with no CEL shadow codes may be logged which would point you to the issue.

To find fuses, go to the rear fuse box and look at your fuse card tucked into the bottom of the fuse box. It will tell you the fuse numbers. If you don't know where it is, google is your friend. Dozens of posts here and more outside the forums on how to find it. Your iDrive vehicle manual also has the info.

Happened to me before.. It might just be a bad fuse. For me it was a bad ground connection on the CAS apparently per the dealership after a $550 "diagnostics" fee at the dealership - This was before I realized not to run to the dealership for every small thing. I'd say start with the fault codes. Share them here. Maybe someone can help!

Probably Bad starter ive done a lot of them on the n52 very common issue. They are really small maybe coke can sized

It was a bad starter. Fixed.

There were no codes at all.

It's scary how these starters fail with zero warning.. but what can I say I streched it above 150k
