Changing rear brake pads but loads of brake fluid

Hi

I tried to change rear brake pads on F25 2013 UK but struggled with retracted EPB, while trying to retract it alot of brake fluid came out of it from the seal and the seal came off from the brake? I managed to put the seal back on, is that normal for brake fluid to come out or have l damaged the EPB

Thanks

Did you retract the EPB using a scan tool (i.e. ista+, bimmerlink, foxwell etc..)?

Sounds like you may have had the calipers off the rotors and then tried to retract the parking brake. Here's how to back off the electric parking brake without a scanner.
