261M's on a F25 X3?
Hey guys,
What are your thoughts on this .... I'm looking for a winter setup for my wife's 2014 X3 M-Sport 2.8i and there's a local deal on set of 261M's from an 1 series. I'm not sure if the offset of these staggered rims will look right / work on an X3?. Can anyone comment: F25 OEM rims in Canada are: Style 308: 18x8.0, 245/50/18 ET43 F25 OEM M-Sport Rims are: Style 369M: 19x8.5, 245/45/19 ET38 The 261M's specs are: 18x7.5 ET49 fronts & 18x8.5 ET52 rears The tires that are included in this local deal are 225/45/18 all around (Nokian Hakkapeliitta) I tried to search images of 261M's on X3's but no luck. Only think I could find close was this 118d 5-Door that is similar to an X3 Let me know your thoughts on 261M's on a X3's - offset wise, Xdrive (AWD)safe, etc .... Thanks

According to my calculations, the 225/45/18 tyres are 42mm (1.7") smaller overall diameter than the OEM size. Certainly here in Australia that would actually be an illegal tyre fitment - you may need to check your local laws.
At around 7-8% smaller tyre OD you might also have problems with the Xdrive system throwing up errors. If I recall correctly this has happened to someone whose tyres were around 10% smaller OD. You speedo would also read 7-8% high. To get something close to OEM OD, for the 18" wheels you would have to match the 245/50/18 OEM tyre size or go to something like 275/45/18s for a 45 profile tyre (and then you might have problems getting this tyre width on a 7.5" & 8.5" rim). Any other comments / thoughts on the offset and look on an X3?
I'm not too worried about the rubber included in this local deal (225/45/18) as I can always source new rubber. It's more the fitment of the rims on a F25 X3 I'm wondering about.

If I was thinking about doing it, I would take the tie to do a photoshop job and see what it would look like. I like the look of them and think it would look nice on the X3.

I'm kinda thinking the wheels will be on the narrow side, and that overall it will be more sunk in from the body. I think the F25 X3 needs even lower offset wheels than what it already comes with.

261M's are now on my F25 X3
So guys, I was able to pull it off. My winter setup now consists of:
1Series 261M's Pirelli Sottozero RFTs 245/50/18's ECS 12.5mm spacers with extended bolts I was able to score two pairs of rear 261M's to make a complete set of 8.5" and because they have an offset of et52, the 12.5mm spacers brings them back to the stock offset. Powdercoating was done by Brightside Customs www.brightsidecoatings.com Here are some pics Before: After:

The space between the tire and fender in that photo is actually an illusion.
The specs between my MSport 369M’s vs. my winter 261Ms are almost exactly the same (-0.1% or -0.9mm) as I wanted to ensure my speedo isn't off. I think it’s the way the photo was taken. I’ll have to take another one and post it …..
