X3M Bimmercode

Am I right in thinking that there is basically nothing worth coding in the UK on the X3M?

I can't seem to find any useful features. Had a stack of things done on my 440i.

There's not a lot. You can code the ASD off, have the boot close at the touch of a button without holding, if need be, but there's not much else I'd do. I may still pay £30 to buy the app so I can do the ASD.

Cool, thanks - I've already got Bimmercode and a VGate so will try the two options youve given although the ASD is actually ok in this car, it was terrible in the 440i and was coded out of the MPPSK 440i

I was just about to have a play with Bimmercode. Is the X3MC recognized or do I need to select X3 G01 ?

It's recognised.

I've just been out to the car, but I've got a new phone since the last time I used Bimmercode, so back inside on wifi to recover the full version and will pop out again later.

I'm also going to change the warning noises to BMW i ones - prefer them, on my 440i I had Rolls Royce

It won't work as the M cars have a different dash to non M cars and Alpinas.

That said I've no desire to change the M dash, it's a huge step up from the digi dash I had in my 440i - same as the one in the M5.

Thanks. Just connected mine and it is indeed on there as X3M. Not coded anything yet but had a looksie. I'd say £30 is fair value just on being able to change it to remember the last auto-start-stop setting! Now if only it could code a more sporty sounding exhaust .. the only pleasure I get from the exhaust is the 30 or so seconds after a cold start !

I updated my bimmercode and have been enjoying the new options for the X3M. I changed my center speedo to km which seemed impossible through my in car US menu. Removed the safety message. Reduced and changed the alarm chirp. And some other odds and ends. I might look into e-sys if I need more but haven't seen the need atm.

The ability to configure the light switch to turn the headlight off when set to ‘0’ would be a welcome addition to ECE cars.

That ignition/audio on until you lock the vehicle does my head in! Not found an option for that yet.

Door mirrors fold by default for me on locking. I have a vague recollection of seeing some options in vehicle settings for that.

Djtto on the folding mirrors. It's an in vehicle menu option.

Hot red ambient color would look sick with Toronto Red exterior.

Here is mine with Sakhir Orange Interior.

It’s baffling that red isn’t an option on a M car full of red accents. I have mine on orange for now.

Agreed - nowhere near enough colour choices, especially compared to Mercedes.

I've got mine set to white / orange to match the dash colours at night.

I like blue, but it looks a little odd with the other colours to me.

I have coded mine using E-Sys.
I also coded ///M Color Theme, light blue on the top, blue on the middle, and red on the bottom.
It is not as bad as hot red though. I have coded a lot of F90 M5 with hot red ambient light.
