I am not free to speak about specific changes; but I believe a new release to be out shortly.

Thats great. Good enough for me just knowing that it's on the horizon. I really hope the Instrument Cluster M dials get fixed in the next iteration.

What I’ve seen it’s much improved. I had real issues with it when first release. Now seems to be working. Gauges still go up very high for MPH and RPM’s. I’m not sure there’s anything BimmerCode can do about that... as it appears the BMW M dash option, right? That said, It does seem silling to have a Speedo that you only use the bottom 1/4 of. Perhaps that’s offset by the bit speedo number in center of area.

I had noticed the increase in speed with the coding but never once noticed the increase in the Tachometer as well. That is interesting.
A little odd the speedo changes to 200mph considering what this car can actually do.... |

Some coding I've done using "expert" mode and BimmerCode:
# Fix Speedo running too high Instrument Cluster (DKOMBI4): BC_V_KORREKTUR mit_korrecktur --> ohne_korrektur # Fog light on with high beams (US default Off) BDC: NSW_AUS_BEI_FL active --> nict_active # Fog lights on with parking lights Body Domain Controller (BDC): NSW_EIN_AUF_LDS_STL nict_active --> active # Change logo displayed in Instrument Cluster Instrument Cluster (DKOMBI4): LOGO_SCHRIFTZUG (default) --> (any) 'kein_logo' to remove. Note: When using BimmerCode expert mode, you can scroll up to get search dialog and put in at least a partial search to get desired setting menu.

Anyone investigated which of these actually work? The X3 m40i option (according to bimmercode) ends up displaying nothing with the Alpina deck. Will try other options later if nobody else has dug into it.

I have tried numerous options and verified they work - with the default IC. I did not try with Alpina or M layouts. However, I would expect them to work - though they may have to be set after applying the Alpina or M layout.

Hey all. New owner of a 2020 X3 M40i, have always paid someone to remotely code my past BMWs, but after lurking on here and discovering Bimmercode, I decided I'd give it a shot. I purchased the full version, and had an OBD-II cord/plug from past coding sessions laying around, so I purchased the two white adapters you see in the attached picture to connect to my iPad. One is a female ethernet to USB-A adapter, and the other is a female USB-A to Lightning adapter. I put the car in Diagnostic mode, put my iPad into Airplane mode, and connected everything properly. For whatever reason, I cannot get Bimmercode to connect, and continually get the error code pictured.
Any help would be appreciated! |

That’s what I figured. Already ordered the recommended adapter on Amazon! Thanks for the tip.

Live cockpit auto-dimming code?
Sorry if this has been mention before. Is there a code to stop the live cockpit from auto-dimming so dark after getting windows tinted?

Got the recommended Amazon Ethernet to Lightning adapter and everything worked great! Coded a bunch of the usual options. As many have found, when changing the gauge cluster back to default from "M", I got stuck with "M40d" where "M40i" used to be. To change that back to stock, I used the expert setting posted above by sinbad (thanks pal!).
As far as I know, this isn't possible without e-sys (maybe its possible in Bimmercode expert mode?), but I really want to code VLD and Auto High beams with Anti-Dazzle. I had Anti-Dazzle high beams on my F25 and it was so cool to see the beams split around cars! |

I tinted my fronts 22% to visually match the back...I don’t think the Live cockpit gets too dim, in fact I wish I could dim it further without using the wheel on the left side near the light dial. When you use the wheel, it dims all the lights related to the buttons and even the HUD. I think I’m going to set one of my shortcut buttons to enable reduced mode on the cockpit to effectively dim it when needed.
