Although I do agree with some of your points, but I do not hate the car because of them - rather BMW for making the options that way. You can't complain about things that you don't like if you know there were like this before you buy the car. Again - it's not fair.
you need to read entire posts before you comment, obviously I have taken it to the dealer about 12 times on a car that's 9 months old and no these things are not designed this way nor were they apparent on delivery and you simply are wrong to state that's its unfair to hate on something that is not working as it should be, that's entirely fair

Same here. The handles are surprising loose.

Emergency braking is useless. I put a box on my driveway and it just ran over the box. My vehicle has the driver assistance plus package. Then I did the same test with the Buick Enclave 2018 and the box stayed intact. When I called the Genius desk they said they want the driver to be in control so the car only primes the brakes. What BS!

I never tried the "box test" but this video seems to show it working

Cardboard makes a crummy RADAR reflector. The sensor is designed around people, strollers, bikes etc which all give a stronger return. The Buick uses a stereoscopic camera only for collision alerting which detects boxes well but is a technology that has problems with flatbed trucks and vehicle exhaust on cold days.

I can vouch for the front collision protection.. It stopped me from rear ending a ass who fully stopped suddenly in front of me because they felt they wanted to change lands to avoid going on the off ramp. BMW beeped and I was stopped by the collision control. Love it.

Agree. That's why we need more competitors in this segment. Once most players offer a feature, it will be difficult for BMW to keep it away simply for differentiation purpose.

Ventilated front seat is finally a commonly available feature in the segment. Let's see which will be the next feature to trickle down from upper class vehicles.
My guess is air suspension. The Audi E-Tron (Q5 size, ie iX3 competitor), got it now.

Noticing that the reverse camera is choppy. Almost like it's skipping a frame.

Auto wipers are almost always either too fast or too snow, specially in stop and go traffic. Our other car has a much better implementation.

You can change the sensitivity via BimmerCode if it really does bother you.

I don’t hate... but would like the HK sound system to be better. It’s fairly good, but not as good as I think it should be considering that it’s two steps up the option list, above the base system.

Very little wind noise from driver side mirror or door seal around A pillar.
(wife couldn't notice it yet. lol)

Other than that, it's a fantastic car.
I here a lot of people complaint about wind noise and have no clue why. My cabin has no noise at all. Wondering if it's a tire thing. I upgraded to the "20 mags. Just wonder what size tires people are rolling on with the noise complaint

I really like the car, but what I don't like is how it drives when it's windy outside... My 4GC cut's like a knife through wind, this X3 makes you want to hold the steering wheel with two hands mostly....

And the biggest failure... the fuel tank cover... why is it so deformed and not-aligned... UGLY!

About your fuel tank cover; heard about many of them getting a bit misaligned after quality check in the factory. Ask the dealership to realign it if it bothers you.

But regarding the wind sensitivity I guess that's a price we have to say to sit a bit higher and look down at the peasants in sedans... ;-)

Aggghhhhh!

Centre console stack has developed, not a rattle, but a squeaking over high frequency/high speed >40mph driving.

I think I've located it to the black trim under the 2 central air vents. This seems to be rubbing on the Aluminium trim or something.

3M 5430 Squeak Reduction Tape. Having an older "weekend" project fun car, I keep a roll of this handy, as I can't stand the squeaks!

I'll ask the dealer, thanks

And yes, that's the price we pay, but I don't know if the next one will be a highriser like this again. I think combining the space and driving fun I'll move to a 5-series next time...

it is difficult to set up and not so great for the money you spend on it.

Granted this is my first BMW and I absolutely LOVE my M40i but it drives me bonkers that in order to activate the headlamp delay at night, I have to remember to push the blinker stalk forward to activate the auto lamp delay. I wished the headlights would stay on for the "pre-programmed" time once I shut the car off and lock it at night.

I thought you can configure headlight delay in iDrive?
