What did you do to your X3 today?

Hi all. I’m blatantly copying forum styles now but I like this for sharing quick updates.

Today I installed aftermarket m sport foot pedals on my x3. I had to trim the dead pedal as the kit was for a g12 but for $40 bucks I am quite pleased with the results. I also added some black net pockets on the passenger side for my spouse.

I used 3m double sided rubber tape. They came with foam tape but it wasn’t very strong.

Hi - can you send me the link from where you bought aftermarket m sport foot pedals. I would like to do the same for my X3.

Thanks!

I got them on eBay. But looking now at the g30 set, they look like they might fit without alteration. See my pics below.

No worries. I agree with you that it's hard to find threads for some reason.

I blame that I use the APP a lot but I've searched for my own posts before and get no results....

Maybe the mods will merge the threads.

I found them on eBay. There are a million and one postings if you search for “automotive storage net”. They are super cheap but I did remove the cheap foam tape and used a good rubber tape instead.

Color matched mirror caps and gloss black side vents. I have gloss black kidney grills and color matched reflector replacements waiting to be put on too.

Also a close up on the Grade A paint job / color matching IND does for carbon black. Forgive the dirty paint on the hood.

Installed a pair of subs in the rear cargo area (technically the shop did). Really happy with how it looks.

Now that’s awesome. Two JL Audio 10s? What does something like this cost and does it integrate into the HK system well?

Looks really nice. Does it make the cover rattle?

We expected it to cause some rattles, but they tested it with the lid open, closed, and closed with weight on it. In all scenarios there are surprisingly no rattles! I haven't personally tested it with weight, but I'll throw my slopitch ball-bag and golf clubs back in the vehicle tonight and see if there's any change.

I probably should have mentioned it's a pair of JL 10TW3's in a sealed box to spec running off an Alpine PDX-M12. The amp is installed at the bottom of the cubby hole on the right side of the cargo area. There's also an audiocontrol LC2i somewhere in there and then a remote base knob wired into the sunglass/change compartment to the left of the steering wheel. The amp is a little strong (1200RMS) for the subs (400RMS ea), but its tuned accordingly as I was too cheap to buy a new amp and I REALLY hoped that 2 13tw5v2's would fit (600RMS ea). Sadly, there wasn't enough room without really modifying the cargo area.

Regardless, I love the fact that the bass doesn't fade out now when I turn up the volume. I've only had two short drives with the stereo, so more info to come on how I think it sounds/integrates.

I don't have the invoice in front of me, but the total cost was ~$2450CDN + tax (~$1900US). I spoke with three different shops and they were all pretty consistent here. They all estimated ~7h labor wanted the vehicle for 2 days. I think JL sets the price of their subs, so those were also consistent.
- Subs were ~$900
- Audio Control LC2i & Bass knob ~$250 (coulda probably got it cheaper on amazon)
- Labor & speaker-wire/similar ~$1300

Now where are you going to put the tank for your meth injection once you want 450 horsepower...

That looks awesome man.
