Navigation Message on 2019 X3

Received a navigation message. Just wanting to know if I need to do anything or it updates automatically.

You need to select one of the options, that's all. Use now, NAV will restart and use updated version of NAV data.

Interesting...I had to download the latest map on my PC (from BMW Connected) and then copy to an USB and then insert that into the car.

After that I got the same message as you on IDrive...

So yours seems to download off the air automatically?

OTA is only regional update, whereas offline update is for the whole country/state/area. For me for example, I've got OTA updates for Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and offline download is whole Europe.

Some of our states in Australia would be larger than Belgium, Netherlands ,Luxembourg and France together (and may as well include Germany!)

But yes I see your point.

I don't think in Australia they have OTA updates at all.

So this popped up yesterday. I can't select any of the options or delete it. Are they advertising or giving me heads up that a map update is coming?

If it matters, I have a 2019 m40i built on 10/31/2018.

I got a message today saying' map update recommended' when I pressed it, it takes me to the current version of my Nav which is 2020 -1 but won't do anything else.

I'm assuming it wants me to update the map via usb if the newest version is out?

This is exactly what happened to me earlier. Nothing happened so I just updated via usb.

I think maybe they have finally fixed their servers!
I actually got 3 messages after deleting them. I reckon they were stuck in a queue and have been resent

Just got this message this morning ('20 x3mc). Can't get rid of the message and (seemingly) nothing to update. Although it asks to enter current location, which I did, but no update and message remains.

How did you update via USB? Can you share a link to get the software? Hopefully there are instructions there too.

Same thing here, its been 3 months since i drove. I saw the message today, literally 5mins ago. I have 19 X3 msport

Bumping this thread, I just got the same message with no way to update the map. When I go to the ConnectedDrive store, it just tells me that I am subscribed to automatic map updates.

I updated via usb yesterday and deleted the message afterwards. The message still keeps popping up everytime I get back in the car.

Maps is listed two times in the store. One offers the option to download the BMW download manager.

No dice, there are apparently two different ConnectDrive portals. I am registered at connecteddrive.bmwusa.com but the download manager is looking for login information from bmw-connecteddrive.my. When i register for a login, the .my site won't take my vehicle vin.
