Min. Battery Voltage

Car: 2012 X3 28i (N52)

For battery to be considered fully functional, what is the MINIUM voltage one should read with voltmeter across the under-hood charging terminals w/engine not running?

Thanks/Bill

On modern vehicles, once you get into the yellow, voodoo can start happening

A battery maintainer that has proper desulfation capability(i.e. BatteryMinder) can many times rejuvenate a otherwise weak batt. It may take a few sessions and once the voltage stops increasing after charging/desufating, it did all it can do. I've been getting 7-10+ years from my batteries by periodically using a desufator. The red top in my Corrado is over 20 years old, but that's some type of miracle battery

I found out last winter my battery is always under 12V. But, I didn't have any issues with the car other than discharging message.
I didn't want to replace my battery that is only 5 years old.
So, I decided to buy a CTEK MUS charger for winter preparation.
I charged the battery to 80%. And I found that it was under 12V a couple days later.
Then, I moved the key fob further away from the garage. The battery is about 12V the day after charging.

I hope to extend the life time of the battery with the charger.
