Steering Wheel Vibrations
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I'll describe the scenario that typically creates the steering wheel vibration. Say two cars are driving similar speed on the highway side by side and the guy in the passing lane is slowly being passed by the guy in the right lane. (Campers I'm the fast lain are painful and the main cause of my road rage) Anyway, as the guy passes in the right lane, you prepare to shoot the gap and as you accelerate and tilt the wheel slightly left to pass into the other lane it vibrates rather strongly until the whee straightens back out. Any ideas what may cause the vibration? Will have BMW take a look next time I'm in for service.

Is lane assistance a standard feature on 21's? I don't believe I optioned that, but maybe it's on there. I didn't recall vibration prior to the recently when shooting the gap.
To answer your question, yes I pride myself on blinker use haha.

Perhaps I misspoke about lane assist. I had a 2019 and there was a setting for steering wheel vibration.

There is a bit of a delay for blinkers and the lane assist vibration. If I use the blinker at the same time as I cross a painted line, I get the vibration. If my blinker is on for around a full second before I cross the line, no vibration.

I don't think so (Cabman you're correct). It sounds like lane assist. OP - turn off your lane assist and see if it goes away.

Yep, same here. If you cross a line at roughly the same time as you put on your blinker, you'll get the vibration. 2022 X3 does the same thing.

Lane assist was never on, so don't believe that is the cause. Definitely feels tied to the steering.
The vibration does not occur if I am shifting lanes to the right, vibration only happens when switching into the left lane. Typically happens the worst when accelerating and shifting lanes at the same time.

Could be alignment issue on one side?
