Hmm, very interesting, never seen anyone do that before. Do you have more pix to share? In looking at it, it appears the OEM screen was larger than the new one, is that correct? However, you must have more functionality in the new one, right? Ahhhh, Singapore, my favorite dish was simply the BBQ stingray served on the banana leaf - wonderful :-)

Ok, upon a closer look at your first post I can see where your pic of the new screen was taken farther away from the dash. It looks great and really makes the car look more modern too. Was it difficult to install (assuming you installed it yourself). Do you have a link to where you bought it that you can share. Singapore is such a beautiful place.

You can still go back to your original screen. Just press the idrive menu to switch between the andriod screen and original screen. It comes with built-in carplay full screen.

Have you tried out android auto?

I was interested in installing one of these in mine, but after googling some other threads, got spooked off a bit.

Amongst some smaller annoyances, one of the consistent things I kep reading was that the GPS was really innacurate (up to 10 or 20 metres off) when using Maps through an android auto-connected phone.

Have you noticed any other issues? Any lagginess?

I've been looking at this and vids on YouTube install doesn't seem crazy I'm just scared of the idrive system not functioning properly with the upgrade. I want to find one with Apple CarPlay that uses Apple Maps

I'm looking into this as well.. I keep hearing the audio quality is pretty poor because it goes through an AUX cable?!

Like how poor? For me, SiriusXM Satellite [compressed] radio sounds pretty shitty through the Logic 7 sound system my X3 came equipped with.. whereas CD's sound quite good. This tells me the speaker system is decent.. it just really depends on the source material/connection used.

Is it somewhere between SiriusXM quality and CD quality?

Thanks.

Hi, I bought the one from 4x4shop.ca last April and installed it along with a backup camera. Really a nice upgrade. HD backup camera is really nice and works well with the parking sensors.

Sound quality is good when you don't put the aux volume to max, but not perfect. Maybe a tad better than SiriusXm on stock head-unit.

If your X3 is equipped with Navigation, you reused the oem gps antenna. same signal has oem, works perfect.

You do have to run the provided microphone for the android side on the thing.

I use Android Auto, works perfect using the idrive control.

Not difficult to installed.

Hi N55_X3, thanks for sharing picture, look nice.

I am now comparing between 2 devices, one is form 4x4, another one is from aliexpress call Teyes.

4x4 having UI similar like EVO,
Teyes is their own UI.

Did anyone use teyes before, hope to get some advice.

Thank you.

For those with the blue anti-reflective screen how does it look? In the pictures above it looks like the screen is really blue.
