6 cyl motor: 7 quarts

4 cyl motor: I believe it's tad bit over 5 qts.

So 2014 X3 Xdrive28I should be slightly over 5 qts?

Yes. you might double check w/Google search. (I don't think this info is in the owners manual but maybe; it's not listed in the manual for my car w/6 cyl. motor)

4 cyl. (28i) is the N20 model engine - I found capacity is 5 liters or 5.3 Qts.

This is correct.

28i (2.0) = 5.3 quarts or 5 litres
35i (3.0) = 7 quarts or 6.5 litres

Older model 2011 N52 28i (3.0) is also 7 quarts.

It's not in the manual. BMW doesn't want you to know that stuff, apparently because they want you to have the dealer do everything. And if you do a basic google search, you will get a variety of answers.

Mine does not have it either.
Looked on page 245 (engine oil) and 270/271 (technical data/capacities)
