LED interior bulb upgrade
Anyone got suggestion on a led bulb upgrade kit for interior of a x3?
I tried searching up old post but most of them had expired eBay listing. Curious if anyone who recently did the led upgrade with a up to date listing they can share? Thanks guys! Last edited by ALPx3; 05-05-2021 at 01:57 PM.. |

I bought this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 NOTE, the seller messed up and a few bulbs missed the mark (like the one for glove box, was not included). But I happened to have the missing ones laying around, so it was NBD to toss out the extras in the kit and used my spares to fill in for the missing bulbs. IMO, piece together your own "kit". its not too much more effort, and you get to choose quality bulbs and probably for a better price point |

Count the interior lights, record the bulb types, buy them off ebay and pick up a few extras
That's what I did, 10 minute job to find what's needed, pretty inexpensive maybe $15 or so. |

What are the bulbs size and quantity needed?
Guess I should have mention my car is in the shop getting some body work done. 18 wheeler drove over a pipe and flung over to my passenger side and left a gashed on my side. If I had the car here I would go and count them. Trying to order some bulbs to have it ready when I get the car back |

Is coding required? As I recall I had to do that when I installed LED's in place of stock backup bulbs...another poster mentioned that the LEDs would flicker if not coded properly, if I'm remembering correctly???? Last edited by Wgosma; 05-05-2021 at 07:25 PM.. |

Here's the instructions
Now, if you're dense like me, the part you're taking off in the first step is the part with the red horizontal lines through it in this very poorly done drawing by me:

Thanks, so after removing that trim piece one then releases the entire assembly and removes it to access the bulb holders, am I correct?

Yeah, after you remove the trim, then you can access two tabs to release the entire assembly, and you can access the back of the bulbs to replace them.
