Xenon headlight alternative

Hi all

Haven't posted in a long time, but I thought I'd share this:

As many others I've had regrets over not getting the Xenon option when ordering my F25 - and having it retrofitted is just too expensive.

So over the years I've searched for an alternative without much luck - until I found this site:
bmw-x3-f25-angel-eyes-led-10-14-look-xenon

So I ordered them - and the (french - but communicates in ok english) guy running the site replied and said that he would definitely be able to deliver - however it would take some time.
Long story short: 5 weeks before they arrived at my doorstep.

My reason for wanting them was purely aesthetic, but you do also get a more focused, brighter beam (depending on the bulbs).

Installing was not a trivial task, but it wasn't rocket science either - took about 5 hours start to finish - mainly due to the fact that the front bumper had to come off.

The headligths are EC4 approved and should not generate errors when installed - first is true: my F25 passed MOT last week with the headlights installed.
Latter is not so true: I had warnings for both daylight and high beam - however easily solved by remote coding - Bimmertech to the rescue again

So without further ado - pics:
(if anyone's interested let me know and I'll post a more detailed description of the installation process and prereqs)

They look great. I have been looking for the same in the US for a while, with no luck.
Depot makes them, but seems no one carries them here.

I had sent a message to the seller, they are about $710 shipped to NJ.

Shipping is 138 euros alone.

They did come with bulbs - however very yellow light, so I got these instead:
MTEC Super White H9 4350K.

There are many white halogen bulbs in the market, but afaik only those and a few others are actually ECE approved.

700ish $ sounds about right when the shipping costs that much - I believe I paid something like 25-30 euros for shipping.

Also: I was charged 125$ by Bimmertech for the recoding

But still much cheaper than retrofit.

Very true on the cost VS an oem retrofit, that many report as not fully successful. I am going to try and track down a set of these DEPO lights and report back on my results.
