Placing my order this weekend, have a few Q's

Hey everyone,

I have my appointment to place an order on a 23 X3MC. I am working with my local dealer. Going for MBB with the executive pkg, vented seats, and shadowline lights.

I had a few questions:

Could anyone comment on Driver assistance pkg?

Also any thoughts on the color of the calipers? They are default blue but I am not sure if this would match MBB color? If not I would probably just go black..

A little about me, I have bounced around from a few vehicles. I had a 14 S5 that was such a beautiful looking car but Colorado hail ended that fun. I had a 10 C63 and also a 19 GLA 45 AMG. The GLA was somewhat similar in performance I would think but was way to small for toting things around. Thanks for any responses and looking forward to this next ride.

I use the Driving Assistance Pkg all the time on long hauls and when stuck in traffic. I primarily use it on the highways but have used it on local roads with traffic lights. It took me a week or two to fully "trust" the system to come to a stop (hovered foot over brake pedal).

In my experience, it works best when Engine & Transmission is set to Comfort. In Sport/Sport+, it accelerates way too quick for my liking especially in stop/go traffic.

Driver assist is a must for a highway commuter, I drove to FL last winter and the car did 90% of the work while I watched movies and youtube "while watching the road too". The blue will not match the MBB it will be BMW racing Blue. Get red. These cars are best done fully loaded, the comp package is not really needed but a nice perk.

Thanks for the replies. So with most of the vehicle black and blue you would go for the red for calipers? Do you have pics of this by chance?

Also ty for the driver assistance pkg reasons. I will add that back in. For me the ventilated seats were a must as that black leather will get hot even with tinted windows!

I went with red.

Do your homework on ventilated seats. Originally I added thinking only $375 option then found out that the foam they use is different and seats are harder. Had the SA remove them from build before production start. Very happy with non-ventilated sport seats.

I skipped Driver asst since I am the fastest on the road usually for safer driving(less chance of getting rear ended) and it may have not worked properly anyway because I have my windshield 70% tinted inside and Dynolfex rock chip film from outside. It interferes with emergency braking system with both films on.

I checked the boxes for all the options and have zero regrets. I thought the vented seats were going to be a gimmick. Nope, love them, use the feature every single day this summer. No, it's not AC blowing on your back, you can hardly even notice it to be honest. However, I've never once had swamp ass or back since I've had this car. Even on a 98* day.

Driving assistant is awesome, use it frequently on highway cruises. Well worth the price!

I used the pro for the first time last week and it was awesome. Had just flown from NYC and was in no mood to battle LA traffic for 2 hours.

I got me home nice and relaxed.

The assistant PRO was, and still is, mindblowing especially the first times I used it. Strong reccomendation.

Driver assistance pro is a no-brainer - it's a truely awesome feature.

I have MBB over the blue brakes and I think it looks damn good. The red calipers are too loud for me on this classy color

Highly recommend having your dealer coordinate Performance Center Delivery for your order. I just got home from PCD a week ago, such an awesome experience - still can't believe this is even an option, and free at that! Can't imagine ever buying a car another way.

I went with the Driving assistant Pro, very helpful in traffic and brake calipers in blue.

Don't think you could go wrong with red or blue calipers. Red if you want it to be flashy, blue if you want a more subdued look. Black in my opinion is the option if you can't decide. Also consider, with the black mesh 892 wheels it hides a lot of the brake calipers, especially when not looking straight into them.

I echo this comment. I just got home from taking PC Delivery earlier today and it's a great experience that the dealer will never be able to match.

Could someone explain the difference between the seats if you select the ventilated? I placed an order with ventilated, but have been seeing mixed comments about them being different than the normal. I’m mostly curious about the overall look of them. Thanks!

No difference, I have vented and my buddy doesnt, we couldnt really find a difference in feel. But its worth having the hot air pusher for the swass. Just do it.

Thanks for the info! Already in production so can’t change it anyways, but glad I did it.

Do the non-ventilated seats have the perforations like the ventilated? I didn't get a chance to see one without ventilated swats to look for a difference.

I bought my F97 off the lot and it does not have Driver Assistance Pro. However, I did have it on my F90 M5C and it is truly fantastic. For the 1,700 bucks - it's a bargain, especially if you're going to do a fair bit of highway cruising.

The blue calipers will NOT match MBB (which is the color I had on my F90). I had CCBs on that - so gold calipers - but more and more I'm becoming a fan of black calipers as it makes the caliper itself "disappear" into the rotor, this in effect brings more of your attention to the wheel design vs. a bright red caliper. Finally, I had blue calipers on my F80 - those looked great. I have blue ones on my F97 - and I hardly notice them (the blue just doesn't seem as vivid as it used to).
