Slotted and drilled rotors finally?
Anyone have experience with them?
I do heavy traffic breaking. A lot of 75mph to a aggressive dead stop. My rear brakes are finished and my front are soon to be done to. I have 20k miles on the car. If you have any other recommendations, please do share. Also for the pads, I want more aggressive pads. When I launch control, my rear breaks loose. |

If you're doing aggressive braking like that, you need to give yourself space between you and the cars in front of you. I drive in some of the worst traffic in the US and never have to brake aggressively.
This also means that drilled/slotted rotors won't be for you. They need a gradual cool down to last, not a sudden stop... |

If you have poor durability from stock rotors due to heavy stop and go traffic (I could understand that after having some experience driving in Montreal area), I am afraid that you may get even worse brake mileage from drilled or slotted rotors. Brake pads may wear out faster, and not sure if it's possible to resurface slotted rotors if they become warped.

I hope not on a G01 - it’s the wrong kit! I think this is the correct one for G01 X3s https://www.carid.com/powerstop/1-cl...&url=109852366 Cheers Steve

Giving up on drilled and/or slotted rotors
Considering a set of Brembo rotors and pads. Saw some conflicting reviews on Tirerack. Mostly about premature wear. <20k on the rotors, which would be annoying. Anyone with experience? Can’t believe the OEM rotors are twice as good, since they cost ~twice as much.

This is the best braking car I have ever owned actually wifes car). They produce a lot of dust but knock on wood thats the only part I do not like so far. 15,000 miles on the car and not a problem - the rotors are still the most perfect looking thing so far. You cannot resurface drilled or slotted rotors so I am beginning to not really use them anymore. I started using them when i would race my subaru up to 100mph then brake hard and deal with the gas build up vibration but i dont plan on doing that anymore with any car haha so sloted isnt necessary. Spend your money on a better air filter, tune, or some cosmetic parts and keep the OEM brake components. This car along with my hyundai accent are two cars that I WILL definately be keeping OEM pads and rotros on.
