Yes, actually. When a car is a daily driver, certain convenience and safety features matter, and for me surround view is one of them, along with adaptive cruise control (which does seem available). It's amazing how surround view really helps with parking, especially in tighter spaces. It's readily available on the competition and on less expensive BMWs. Speculation here based on inferences from photos is that it might be available on the X3M, but BMW is not making that easy to confirm just yet.
My wife has it on her X5 and I guess I just haven't paid it enough attention. Or maybe I don't know how to use it because it really doesn't seem to work all that well.

I have been very smitten with the X4 and was seriously considering the M40i but wanted something closer to the speed I got from the tuned 135is. If the X4M had already been out it would have made my Macan Turbo purchase decision more difficult. Oh well.

Yeah agreed, those two are sticking out for me (I missed that the wireless charger was in there initially). If I'm running the numbers right exec pkg will be about $60/month on the lease.. may depend on how good of a deal I can get.

It’s a bad package in this configuration.

Wish we had more alacarte options.

Does the M-performance exhaust come standard with the competition package?

That was noted on the initial release?
Otherwise, when building an X3M, I would opt for the base and get 20” wheels.

BMW didn't make ZEC must-have like they did with F8x. ZCP in my opinion is way overpriced for what you get. If you're eventually getting tuning upgrades anyway the 30+ hp is irrelevant. The ZCP seats are really great but not worth that much more in cost to me. Personally I like the clean badge of X3 M over the "Competition" badge. I do think it's cool to have two versions release at the same time though. Some people will clamor to ZCP simply because it's regarded as an upgraded version to stock, which it is, but pretty mildly for the price hike. Either way you're getting a great car, but I say keep the build price as low as possible and do all the upgrades yourself after pickup.

Go try those seats in the M5 then sit on the X4 M40i. It will change your mind.

Maybe it's time for true "M" cars to ditch the M, at the very least debadge.

Value of the comp pack definitely depends on perspective... if going to aftermarket mod probably has lower value but for the majority who are not going to mod and want something beyond the base package it's a fairly reasonable deal for an OEM option package considering the 7k gets you quite a bit above the base car:
More Power- factory engine tune with full warranty
More Sound - M sport exhaust standard (not available on base)
Suspension upgrades
21s ($1200 option on base car)
Extended merino ($1000 option on base car)
Msport seats ($950 option on base car)
blacked out trim (priceless)

Hello. FYI European spec says the X3 M competition weighs 2045 kg which is 4508 lbs.

Question: Can the X4's and X4M's Roof Rails be Deleted here in the U.S.?

I don't mind the look at all, but I much prefer the sturdier mounting system of mounting a Thule Rack directly to the internal roof frame.

Thanks in advance.

A well-equipped non-ZCP comes out to roughly the same MSRP as a well-equipped X5 35i M Sport.

I'm sure leases won't be nearly as competitive, but on MSRP numbers alone that's quite the deal!

X5's interior is nicer but it's boring as HELL to drive. If one has to spend that type of coin may as well buy something special and fun.

Configurator does not indicate panorama roof in Exec pack for X3M but according to ordering guide it is not standard on X3M and is part of exec pack. Is that right? I would guess configurator is wrong but that's a pretty big omission for most buyers. If someone skips exec but ends up with no glass roof which they thought was included, that could be a big deal.

So the exec package does include the sunroof as you can tell in the picture (front view) the roof changes.

That makes a lot more sense why it's $3900 now.

Also the X4M really only costs $2100 more when equipped the same as X3M. Reason it's starting price is higher is standard sunroof...

If it really is 4,600lbs, most of that extra weight comes from the beefed up ///M suspension and more steel for strengthening and stiffening the chassis itself, and also extra cooling parts for the engine. Still ridiculous it'll be that heavy though even with 500hp from the Competition.

OK, I was just at the local dealership here in New York today and I finally saw an X4 with no roof rails. But to my dismay there is NO location where you could mount a rack directly to the roofs sub frame.

Owners will know this better than I. Please feel free to comment on this, as to me this is a big deal. One of the reasons to get an X4 or an X3 in any version is to have added utility. But with the X4 their obviously is added lower profile coupe styling and vibe which I completely prefer.

I definitely want to be able to put a Thule Rack onto the roof. So it looks as of now you have to get the roof rails to mount anything to the roof. When you delete the rails all that is there is a solid strip of plastic going the whole length of the roof, as pictured. I have installed plenty of roof racks when I worked at a high-end Ski & Boat Shop. And every brand of vehicle I found their standard roof rails to be subpar and incredibly cheap and cheaply mounted. So I found mounting directly onto the roof sub frame was always sturdier. I also noticed the strip of plastic on other BMW vehicles models at the dealership today with NO flaps for mounting, that is always been a BMW standard and I'm shocked to see that now not available with some models.

So to make you guys aware, if you want to have a Rack on your SAC or SAV you will definitely need to get the BMW Roof Rails.

What looks better? Well that's up to the individual. I prefer without, BUT if your choosing to eventually put a Rack on your roof of your brand new SUV it definitely looks like your going to need to get the roof rails. BMW roof rails are solidly installed to the roof, it's the mounting to the BMW Rails which I've always taken issue with.

And I don't like that the X4 does NOT have interior roof handrails either. That boggles the mind.

Doesn't negate the fact it weighs more than all of the competitors with the smallest engine.
