Loud noise when switching to phone
Please excuse my bad English, I'm not a native speaker and new on this forum.
I got my X3 beginning of February and a noted and odd behavior. I sometimes get a loud noise just like a stone hitting my windshield when my car switches from any audio to phone. E.g. My iPhone is running Waze or any other navigation app and the output is set to bluetooth phone. When listening to onboard music (radio or connected music) and the car switches to phone mode (either by incoming call or navigation instruction) one out of ten times I hear a loud bang on my speakers before I hear the phone. Sounds like a big stone hitting my windshield. Rather scary. Anyone else with that problem? Andy |

Haven't experienced anything like that so far. Do you have CarPlay setup or are you only connected via Bluetooth?

When flicking to iPhone, I’ve experienced a very loud and sharp / piercing sound maybe 3 or 4 times in the year I’ve had the car, and yes, it could maybe be described as as sounding like a stone hitting the glass. No idea why it happens and very rare but yeah - it’s real.

I get it when I listen to a voicemail, as soon as it switches to phone audio there is a very loud crackle. It doesn’t do it on waze or other navigation apps though. Phone is an iPhone XS.

Short feedback. I took my car to my dealer and according to them I got a new media and bluetooth software installed. Since then no more piercing sounds when switching to telephone mode.
