I'm trying to anticipate what paint colors BMW will make available for the X3M besides Alpine White and Black Sapphire.

Good one. I'd like San Marino Blue or Velvet Blue. This time around I want a M color and I don't know if I would go lighter if available with a CFRP roof. I don't see the CFRP happening but if they want a weight save an easy way would be delete sun roof and add CFRP.

I've begun dropping hints to my wife about the X3M - we'll see. We may stay with the X3 M40i, but I'd like for her to at least see one seriously when it is released to be able to differentiate what it offers over the M40i.

She actually listened and seemed interested. This seemed like the best route to go to get the seed planted, as it is difficult to provide a reasoned response to her question, "why do I need more power and acceleration than what we have with our G01 M40i's" (pleural as our second one should be here in three weeks or so)? Quite honestly, we don't. But the whole package does provide her pause, so we'll see. Next up I'm going to show her some of the paint colors we're discussing, so keeping fingers crossed. |

I shared images with my wife of Individual paint colors from the pdf collection DD88 shared in Feb 2016 [ https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...44&postcount=1 ]. She liked 'Pure Metal Silver'... until we read and heard (in the video attached) it is 40 times more expensive than their base paint lines.
But it is a beautiful paint, and was interesting to see the multiple steps required in the production: |

A bit off-topic as this video is of a new Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but I also shared this with her to illustrate the remarkable aerodynamics and handling of this echelon of performance - https://www.motor1.com/news/265083/w...-190-autobahn/ |

My vote is for a killer green color - Audi has some great options with the RS5
