Has anyone Debadged the front grill badge or the side vents?

I am looking to either D badge or black out the emblems on the front grill and on the two side vents on the front fenders . It appears like the front grill is a special part that includes the support for the badge so it is not so simple to remove

Playing with the piece in the grill it almost feels like it’s a separate piece that could possibly be detached, but i think you’d have to pop the full piece out to get at it properly. Could be wrong but worth looking into if you’re dead set on total de-badge.

On the side trim pieces it’s a decal inset into the black trim, so it can be removed but you’d need to fill it and paint/wrap it to make it look proper.

There were a couple comments on the side pieces in the IND reflector thread: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...36&postcount=7

I simply put some carbon wrap over the sides and front. It looked too tricky to do any thing else.....and the front would need a new grill.

The piece in the front grill is not separate - cannot be removed. You just have to cover up/black out the badge.

You have to change the grille and it wont be a M one that is split spoke

any help?

Cant say i am 100% happy with this approach, but ATM there appears to be no other option other than this or replace the fronts with non-M grills

think maybe plain gloss black would be better?

I have this grill on order. Cost was $93 from Amazon. Picture and description indicates M split spokes with no badge. It is coming from China. You could also look for similar on ebay.

I never understood this.

People pay all this extra money to get an "M" car, and then they try and hide it, or acted like they're ashamed of it? haha Seems ridiculous to me....

Also, you're not fooling anyone, especially the people who would know, and care. lol

Some people like being a bit more stealth/sleeper to the average public. Plenty of people have no idea how to distinguish an M model from a regular model of the series so it can cut down the drama with the haters. And it makes it easier to surprise all the speed racers who think they’ve got a hot shit car and don’t know they’re looking at anything other than a BMW SUV. The ones who know just give you the approving nod.

It’s also how all the fake badge people think they’re cool - a good portion of the public doesn’t know any better. But an enthusiast can spot it a mile away.

yes we buy it for the performance not for the badges and emblems. if thats all you want you can add M badges to any car even a Toyota. and actually most people have no clue.

Horses for courses. I brought this car for performance and practically. I’m proud i have a M car and I personally think this car suits the badges being on. I have had other cars where de badge looks better and less fussy with badges on the left and right or the rear boot/trunk lid for example.

the CF looks perfect on the gills. not sure what can be done on the front. I could live with a badge that had the lettering in gloss black maybe.

where did you get the CF film ?

Significantly more money, but these don’t look like they have the notch for a badge
