2022 X3 30i w/M Sport Option vs 2022 X3 M40i interior difference
Interior differences. Are the seats, shifter and other components the same?

One difference should be that the 30i has the button to disable the auto start-stop function and M40i doesn't. That falls under "other components", right?

There are two main interior differences (both standard for US market):
"True" M split-spoke steering wheel with tri-color stitching versus the regular M Sport steering wheel. Cannot be ordered for the 30i w/ M Sport pkg. SensaTec dashboard and all four door caps with contrast stitching (same material as non-leather seats). It came standard for my 2022 father in law order and seems to be case all around. BMW is not charging the 350 USD fee listed on the 2022 ordering guide. I also have the dash in my 2019 X3 M40i - I do not recall if it was standard back then for the dash for the M40i's when I ordered. The SensaTec dash option cannot be ordered for the 30i in the United States. As mentioned, no ACC start/stop button due to implementation of mild hybrid technology. Exterior recap (Standard for M40i): M mirror caps in black gloss (std), M double slate grille w/ front M badging, and M side fender badging. |

The stitching on the dash really adds to the appearance of the car. Wish my 2021X3 had it.
