Bit of help if anyone can advise.
Bought the Amazon Enet cable and adaptor, set the car to diagnostic mode, connected the bimmercode app, went to code the tailgate in expert mode for a 'long' press of the fob to avoid accidentally opening the tailgate. Pressed the code icon, message popped up saying to purchase the full version, which I have. Found out that I needed to restore the bimmercode app as I'd not used it for a while. Done that and my ipad says full version available. Tried to connect again and it won't connect as it did previously but throws up the 'check connections, airplane mode on, wifi off etc... but still cannot connect. Any ideas as it did connect before I restored the app to the full version. Sorry for the long winded post but I've had no reply as yet from the developer. TIA. Neil. |

This is a message for Kevinkay. Kevin, I sent you a PM earlier. But did not realize I could not attach photos. The bimmerpost app keep crashing. Here are the photos I got from my 2019 BMW X3, after enhanced bluetooth was successfully coded. |

Connected straight away but immediately kicked me out but then I got in to code a few bits. The Stop/Start memory was worth the hassle I've had with it if nothing else. Alpina dials I'll possibly revert back to std, I'll see how they go. |

Can anyone give opinions on using the enet cable & adapter vs Bluetooth adapter?

I have BimmerCode and two wireless adapters I have the enet cable. BimmerCode with the enet cable is definitely the fastest, easiest, and most stable connection. Planning to sell my wireless adapters.

It’s important to do any coding in “Diagnostic Mode”. To do this, make sure car is off. Without pressing the brake, press the Start button 3x quickly.

And if you are me, press it 36 times quickly because I can never get the timing right. It eventually says diagnostic in the dash.

Everything I did was as per the developers guides/tips. Although I got it working, the developer, Stephan had then replied with this. Not sure if this is why it then worked or whether the Ipad update helped. ''Hi, lock the car, let it rest for a while and then try to connect again. Kind regards / Schöne Grüße Stephan Gauch'' |

Is it possible to code these (or can they be set through idrive 6?):
- remember last driving experience setting - remember seat heating setting (permanently) - keep rear LED lights on permanently? - remember last 'auto start stop' setting permanently? These were all available to code through Bimmercode on my X2, but I've only seen the last one on Bimmercode's website for the X3. Are they maybe called something different?

Hey all. New owner of a 2020 X3 M40i, have always paid someone to remotely code my past BMWs, but after lurking on here and discovering Bimmercode, I decided I'd give it a shot. I purchased the full version, and had an OBD-II cord/plug from past coding sessions laying around, so I purchased the two white adapters you see in the attached picture to connect to my iPad. One is a female ethernet to USB-A adapter, and the other is a female USB-A to Lightning adapter. I put the car in Diagnostic mode, put my iPad into Airplane mode, and connected everything properly. For whatever reason, I cannot get Bimmercode to connect, and continually get the error code pictured.
Any help would be appreciated! |

What I figured was the issue. Had the other adapters already so was being cheap. Ordered the recommended adapter so should be all set to code come Friday!

Give it another try as I was also getting the same message, I was though, waiting until the IP address had been confirmed. My adaptor worked once the car had been locked and left for some time before retrying. Then again, if you have another adaptor en-route, you may as wel wait for that. |

Thank you Titomi
what I meant by the point about remembering seat heating setting... I believe that everytime you start the car you need to turn on the seat heating again. On my X2 there was a coding you could do that would permanently remember the setting of your seat heating, everytime you start the car. Do you know if you can do that on the X3? I couldn't find that on Bimmercode's manual
