Hi guys,

I have a 2020 x3 m40i with around 26k miles. I’ve been getting a pretty frequent issue on the first start of the day for a few months now. A normal sounding crank followed by a stutter and then normal engine start. It’s been at the dealership for diagnostics twice now but they’ve never been able to reproduce it. (Of course). I’ve caught it on video and I’ve gotten faults on iDrive (twice now) that the starter failed. Ironically the engine started, but still threw the fault. Has anyone had an issue like this, or have any ideas? Every subsequent start is fine and starts up great. Thanks!

Fuel pump maybe?

On the N54 this was common... whats the fault?

The fault is “Engine cannot be started: starter system fault. Call roadside assistance”

Was able to start it on the second try

Yes I think I have the same issue as well was wondering if it was a spark plug issue or what?
