Hi,

I drive the x3 hybrid 2020 for some months now.
They delivered the car with Yokohama advan sport 105 tires 20" 275/40/R20 rear 245/45/R20 in front. I drive this tires for 2 months, finding comfort of it not great.

For winter I swapped to 19" Continental TS870P winter tires. For me it was a great update in comfort, a lot smoother steering. And you have to drive it less active it looks like.

Today I swapped back to the summer tires. I notice the lack of comfort.
Pressure is 2,2 bar front, 2,6 bar rear as BMW suggests.

I read the Yokohama are very stiff tyres.

Is it what I am experiencing coming from this kind of Yokohama tire and will another brand be better for me? or will it be tyre size?
Would buying some more comfortable summer tires make the ride smoother and more comfortable? Or will it not be a big difference?

Most likely those Yokohamas were run flats which by design have a stiffer sidewall.

So yes, swapping to a different summer or all season tire, especially a non run flat, will increase comfort, and even more so if you downsize to 19s.

As far is I can see it is no run flat.

They are not RFT, but they are BMW * approved tyres.

Personally, I’d always go with BMW * approved to avoid issues, as these are the tyres BMW tested with the car, and X Drive can be sensitive.

I have an X5 and replaced my RFT with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus XL and they are much more comfortable and find they handle better. They are "soft" tires which will tend wear faster. I live in the south so I do not need winter tires. Getting ready to order an X3 to replace wife's car.
