Instrument cluster cracked

I've got a minor crack in my instrument cluster and I'm not that bothered by it but wanted to do a little research into my options for repairing it. My first instinct is to pull the clear plastic cover from another cluster and replace it. But looking at pictures of the part, it appears to be bonded in place. Does anyone have experience removing the "glass" or is that pretty much a non-starter?

The other option I could see is instead of swapping the glass, just coding the replacement instrument cluster and installing that. But I'm not sure what is and isn't possible when it comes to the coding of parts like this, and also if I need to be more selective about the donor vehicle.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

The cover will separate from the cluster itself, so you should be able to do what you originally planned. If you swap in a whole cluster you're going to have to virginize it, which is more trouble than just coding.

Here's the line where the front part, which includes the shroud and the clear plastic part, separates form the cluster body.

Oh that's great to hear! Just need to keep my eye out for a broken cluster going for cheap. Looks like there's a lot of stock on LKQ but I think those are all presumably working so they're asking about $150 plus or minus. It doesn't seem like a bad deal if I needed the whole thing, but too much just to take care of a small crack.

Is there another source for parts these cars that is good to keep in mind? Usually I'd check pick n pull but I think F25 is a little too new to be in their yards

I get most of my parts from my local car recycling place, typically for retrofitting newer stuff into my F25. They do have an eBay store as well and it looks like they have one cluster listed here.
