Everyone post up your builds and build week once you get them so we can suffer together! This is one hell of a machine.

hol up. what’s up with “32Z”? why would bmw digital key be deleted?

that’s the only reason why I waited for the LCI rather than getting into a MY21 model.

I am thinking chip shortage and that standard feature will return once resolved. Typically a way to deal with a fluid situation.

Same here. I also wanted to get the BMW Laser headlights instead of the adaptive LEDs, press release stated these would be available as an option for the 22s, however, in the option info I have seen so far I see no mention of the laser lights as an option now....darn it

Did you decide to keep the pano (I don't see '7ME' - M Driver's Package listed)?

This was my first guess too. You get a discount for your troubles though.

I can't justify having to pay more to remove a sunroof so I will probably just keep it. At least the 892m wheels will save me 16 pounds. Ha!

Talked to my local dealership and they got one allocation with no brake calipers options. Also talked to about 4 others dealerships from WA to Cali and they don't have allocation #'s yet. They said no discount will be given, either will be close to msrp for WA dealerships and Cali dealerships over msrp. 🤦🏻*♂️

Don't really understand the allocation process but can you guys please shed some light for me? Why is it so hard to order a car? Even though a dealership doesn't get an allocation, can I place an order with them?

You can place an order with them. They'll fill you when they choose to fill you. They must have a priority system. They get allocations and will probably cover their best clients or best prices first.

I myself got lucky in that I ordered with a discount for a 2021, but that car could not be built because it was ordered in May and they got no new allocations.

The dealership will honor my price once they get an allocation, but my big risk here is how long they choose to take to fill me. Although I'm technically one of the first orders, they might make me wait to fill those MSRP orders first…

Thank you, honestly I don't even care for a discount at this point. Don't mind getting it at msrp just not over but feels like it's so hard to even buy one even if you are ready financially.

To answer your other question: it's so hard to order a car because of a plethora of factors affecting the market right now. Among others:

(1) supply chain issues - limited parts available to build cars. This creates pressure on supply, low car inventory

(2) new model. An LCI is creating additional demand from people who have been or are looking to sell their X3M from 20 or 21. Some are getting money back for selling their lease.

(3) pent up demand. People have money and want to spend it in shiny things.

A shock in demand and a shock in supply. The perfect storm.

So, dealerships don't have cars and people want them, especially this new X3M that just came out and is not even in the street yet.

f82fanatic: I'm curious how you found out about Marina Bay Blue color for the X3M? I've seen it listed on German configurator - - but those colors not necessarily identical to U.S. Do you have Price Guide or Order Guide?? Thanks

thanks - I wonder why there is no "priority 1" color - such as for the X3 and X4's - which has listed Tanzanite Blue II at an additional cost. Any ideas? Thanks

Chances are there might be, but they aren't out yet.

The press car is a frozen blue color, that should give us a clue.

They might make it available at a later date?

Not sure.
