Where I live, if I get caught carrying a weapon in a building where it's posted that you are legally not allowed to carry, it's a class C misdemeanor, fine maximum is $200. Basically the same as a speeding ticket.
As my license to carry instructor told us: would you rather need it and not have it, or have it and possibly pay a fine equivalent to a speeding ticket? How many of you have broken the speed limit more than a few times in your life if not on a daily basis? |

My suggestion is to not mount or leave a firearm in a vehicle at all. Doing so risks forgetting it is there - consider the sadly frequent stories of people with forgotten firearms in carry-on bags who encounter predictable difficulties at airport security checkpoints.
Unattended firearms may be accidentally found by other drivers and passengers or, if visible, by passers-by, and are vulnerable to theft if a vehicle suffers a break-in or is stolen. Few, if any, civilian facilities exist where one can safely practice drawing a firearm from any kind of vehicle mount or from an interior vehicle compartment and then engaging a target. If you want a firearm to be accessible, keeping it on your person in a holster you train with regularly is arguably by far the more sensible and prudent approach. |

I’ve been on car forums for 20 years and these types of threads always come up and they all go this way and are eventually locked.Whether it’s where to hide your gun in your Corvette, Mustang, Hellcat, BMW, (insert brand/model here) they all go down this exact same path. There is no “civil debate” on this topic. Only the passionate on both sides get into these pissing matches. Whatever side you take you will never convince hard-core folks on the other side to change their mind. It is entertaining though 😁
If someone asks me what side I fall on I’d say none of your damn business. I came here to read about the F97 not engage in a political debate but hey, that’s just me. YMMV. |

Anti gun people: Why are you on this thread if you're "no pun intended" so triggered by guns? No one gives a shit about your opinions. Literally no one. Just skip the thread, pretend you're an adult, and mind your business.

Seems like the ones telling gun owners they have small dicks are the ones obsessed with our dicks. Projection is what I think

On a separate note, that little mini glove box where some of the people here store their guns is one of the most used storage areas in my M. |

If you can legally open carry, then I would suggest an ankle holster. I found this video very helpful in selecting my first holster. The holster must be worn at the right height and cant so that the grip is easily accessible. The most comfortable holsters are paddle holsters and inside the waist band holsters. I would suggest you consider one of these holsters instead of keeping it in your car. These holsters can be concealed under casual clothes too.

Damn this is getting hot. Reality is if we lived in a world with no guns then I would be all for that. But we have more guns then people. There are more good people then bad. More good gun owners then bad. Yes people make mistakes and forget their guns or accidentally discharge. Should we also get rid of cars because people drink? Its a moot point to bring up the negative of guns. There are many ways we can improve. But here is a fact. Some of the highest gun crime are in cities with the highest gun control.
