Bimmercode said coding error for power liftgate module.

I recently replaced 14 X3 power liftgate module with a used one on eBay. The module can work without programming, but when I connect with Bimmercode, it said invalid coding error. Can Bimmercode program the module and I can code it later? Thank you everyone.

There might be a flash version mismatch with other module dependencies.

The dependencies are always there, you don't clear them. There are many modules that interact with each other and mostly need to be at a similar firmware version. Use E-Sys and see if it detects the module. If so code it from there. My guess is the module is from a vehicle much older or newer than yours. It can be flashed to match the rest of the vehicle's modules.

Thank you pungo, I don't have E-sys, will try Bimmercode or Bimmerlink to see if they can.

AFAIK, Bimmerxxxx can't do any programing, only coding (changing parameters). If it's working, I'd leave well enough alone.

How about reset the battery to remove the ECU memory?
