Removing sludge and gunk from internal engine.

I picked up a 07 X3 for $600 with 130k on the clock. i opened the oil cap and can see on the cam a lot of oil and sludge build up i can scrape it off with my nail its a lil thick. I wanted to know some safe treatments to remove it, i havent changed the oil yet, havent even driven the car yet, but i have read seafoam, MMO and ATF and real experience with these engines? I only want to do it for like 100 miles before I change the oil.

Warm up the engine. Drain the oil and refill with correct BMW 5w30 synthetic oil or 0w30. Drive for 100 miles and refill again with new oil and filter. Don't put any additives in the engine and only use European formula synthetic or BMW oil.

Yeah, an engine that old... Suddenly removing all that sludge, gunk, and deposits with some kind of solvent would be like ripping a bunch of scabs off. Leaks everywhere.
