2020 X3 M40i transmission woes

Searched but could not find any past posts.
Two occurrences on less than 1,000 miles. On inclined driveway put tranny in D only to have it go back into P when I applied throttle.
Another time on level ground put into R only to have it go back into P.
In both cases I had to wait a little and slowly select the gear and it went in.
The worry is in an emergency situation where you need to move the vehicle quickly it won’t respond.
Picked up car March 2020 and not back to dealer so no updates if any exists.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Were any of the doors ajar or perhaps not closed fully?

Were your PDC sensors going off? Did the city braking function engage? I've had that happen on a steep incline driveway, as well as when someone was flying in a parking lot as I was backing out.
