So I am a bit confused by all the people bitching about it not "looking special" on the outside and basically saying thats why you pay $15K more for this over a X3 M40i. The Mxxi versions are meant to bridge the gap between a standard version and the Ms, like like Audi has the S versions, and just like Audi there isn't as much difference between the M40i and a full blown M now (look at a S vs RS). Compare a 30i to the X3M and its a huge difference.
You are paying $15K more for the actual M PART, the engine, suspension, handling improvements... If you are buying for looks alone why are you even buying a BMW and why spending so much for the upper end models, there are better looking SUVs out there for the same or less. Am I disappointed with the looks, yeah a little, would it stop me from buying this over the competition, nope! I will make my decision 100% on the driving experience. |

They could easily put fender extenders on like X5M or Stelvio QV as well as 295 rear and 265 front tires (which can be had in PS4S as well). Those two little changes alone would improve the look. Carbon roof option makes sense as well and people would pay for it. I think it looks alright and I'm sure it's going to be a real hoot to drive regardless but we all want it to look more the part too.
