shopping X4

Anybody with kids shopping the new X4. I have a 2 year old and another on the way and wanted to know how realistic it is to live with?

You want to go with the X3 or stick with the X5.

X4 is a "nice looking" (from the exterior), but impractical car, just like the X6.

Hi, can't agree with Yocal.

I had a test drive for 24 hours from my local dealer here in Nottingham UK of an X4 3.0d M-Sport. It felt exactly the same size as my current X3, but clearly it does have a sloping roofline.

I am 6ft 1inch and could easily sit in the rear seat behind myself (if you know what I mean) and my head was not quite touching the roof. So for kids and normal/tall adults, no problem at all. For the Harlem Globe Trotters, I would buy an X5.

The boot (trunk) was as big as my X3, just a little less height. Overall the car felt far more stylish, chunky, aggressive and manly than my X3, which I think might just be a car for the ladies (having owned one for over 3 years now).

I'm ordering an X4 for March/April 2015 delivery, which is the current expectation if we order now in the UK. Sadly, only the 2.0 diesel, though the 3.0 V6 diesel was awesome.

PS I also borrowed a 420d Sport Gran Coupe. That turns some heads and was fairly practical, but in the end just felt a little too small for my family of four (kids aged 6 and 9) with all the luggage they can bring.

we received a x4 a couple weeks ago and I was able to drive it a little and its a great car, size wise as you are concerned it seems to have ample room in the rear seats and would be a perfect set up for your current situation IMO.
