We just got a software update with one pedal driving and our second 5% power increase (10% power increase in the last year). I do enjoy the X3M, though. As shifting, traditional engine sounds are still fun for me.
The Model 3 Performance is a very fun car to drive. I didn't get my second update yet so I'm not sure how the one pedal driving will be like yet.
Yes it's fast. Faster then my F80 M3. But I just love the way the M3 roars down the street and it handles like a dream. Both amazing cars. The X3M is amazing. Wish I can add that to my stable. Maybe later.

Mainly just in school zones, we don't have kids and have never seen much benefit in them so I figure this at least weeds out the slow ones....

I got pulled over once for going 97 in a 40 on a county road. Our conversation was this:

DPS: Any reason you are going so fast?

Me: No, honestly I love cars and I love driving fast

DPS: Thanks for be honest and polite, this car looks awesome, what the heck is it?

Me: V8, Twin Turbo AMG that started its life as a SUV

DPS: I like it. We are about the same age and I have noticed at this age people usually slow way down in life or go really fast in life, I am a lot like you with cars. How does you driving record look?

Me: Spotless unless my lawyer just pockets the money I give him when I get tickets.(laughing)

Me: Yep

DPS: comes back after checking it and states "be careful out there".

Me: Thank you sir, I will.

Good luck finding that. Maybe you could ask IND to make you a bolt in 3rd row for the F97

Maybe in Texas. Western WA highways are a gauntlet of eager to ticket state troopers who will ticket you for going 5 mph over but will ignore illegal left lane campers all day.

I've definitely noticed the lack of fucks given usually. it really depends on the area because some are notorious for getting people at 1mph over (Google Selma, TX). Where I live they don't care 90% of the time no one cares I've gotten maybe 7 warnings since moving here for moving violations (speeding or whatever), I had more for no front plate than anything else

Agree, nothing like an overnight power boost. These 2.9 sec trips to 60 rock.

Of course, I love the X3M, but will be eager to see the IX3.

Preaching the truth brother. Amen.
Yeah it's such a tough call. I'm in a physician's car nerd group on FB (maybe some of you are on there too?), and even the founding member, who regularly tracks a Senna, and a 720S, and has people like Randy Pobst on speed dial says the "best" all around car he's ever owned is his Model S. He recently got a quick drive in a Model 3 and was so blown away, that he bought one while he waits for his Taycan Turbo S to be built.

And plenty of other guys in the group who DD Ferrari, Porsche, etc. all swear by their Model S and Model 3s.

I drove a Model S in 2014 and wasn't blown away, so I'm still not sold, but Elon is making it more and more difficult lol. It's just...not a car imho

When I evaluate cars, I look at five things: Speed, looks, lux, tech, and sound. Tesla m3p has the speed, can’t deny that. However, it mostly applies to straight line speed. Tesla has improved in terms of steering and handling, but it is still far away from true performance sedans like M3, RS5 and similar. Hell, even our X3M “SUV” handles better, and with more composure, than the Model 3p. Tesla also has that plastic toy looks that I personally cannot come to terms with. Lux is not great, I understand Tesla’s intentions, but that interior simplicity and the cheap gray steering wheel simply do not convince me. I’m kind of divided about tech, it has some cool innovative features but lacks the for me absolutely essential things such as an instrumental cluster or head-up display. And, sorry, that massive mac display in the middle is unacceptable. I won’t even discuss the sound...

Totally with you. Only thing I'd wonder about is handling, since Pobst himself helped dial in during testing, and a number of my track rat friends are very happy with the handling for what this car is

I'm still not sold though
