Finally building my X3MC - 3 Q's
Hey Gang,
3 questions: 1) Is the carbon strut brace available in the US? 2) I'm dead set on the Michelin PS4 over the Conti SC6 (I've seen a 50/50 split between the two on the dealership lots.) Anyone disagree that the PS4's are superior? 3) In the M40i the vented seats are inferior to the non-vented with smaller, useless side bolsters. The Competition vented seats in the X3MC look like they have the same adjustable side bolster system as the non-vented... is that correct??

2) That's what I've heard. I chose to keep my Michelens when one arrives damaged and my dealer offered to swap to Contis. 3) Definitely the same quality ventilated or not in the X3MC. I got burned by the ventilated seats in my M40i ;it was a world of difference between the non ventilated seats. Not so in the X3MC. Pull the trigger for the ventilated and enjoy them in the summer! I did and don't regret it. |

It's not an item that can be added to an online build in the US, though I've seen people post it as an option in Europe...

It seems like no one in my area is getting PS4's on Comp cars. I got the Conti's. I never win the tire lottery.

Every new vehicle that I've ever ordered (easily over 25) in my life, if they used different brands of tires, my vehicle always came in with the cheapest tire offered. Just my normal poor luck. |

Not sure the OP will get a choice on the tyres, it'll come on what they give it same with the M3/4 MPSS or Conti 5, the only difference I find is the Michelins tend to last longer, some say the PS4S has better traction than the CSC6 but with xdrive you're not going to notice I would have thought.

If you want the black wheels instead I would happily trade you. I have a comp and wish I could have gotten the orbit grey wheels.

I'd love to hear from someone who has driven an X3M Comp (or X4) on both tyres and has a valid opinion.
I'm on the Conti 6's too and I've been wondering if 1) the MP4S's ride a little softer and 2) there is less slip when cold / wet? Mainly because I was running MP4S's on my 440i and I thought they were epic and because the car does run hard, so if a change of tyres will help I'm in!
