2019 G01 X3 M40i Delivered!
Stable mate to the 2018. Very similar specs as we have enjoyed the first one so much, but we did add ZDB to give the active driving assistant a try and 2VF for the Adative M suspension. Also, this is Black Sapphire metallic (475) rather than Dark Graphite (A90). Although ordered the 698Ms as before, the performance RFT is now the Bridgestone series rather than Yokohama.

Other than the disappeared cargo cover strut and 710, have you noticed any other differences (minor or major) between 2018 and 2019 models?

Haven't read much about this in the Forum, so unsure how many have this optioned. As it appears the glove box is different (with a divider down the middle, so halving the volume), I wonder the cost and effort involved to retrofit if one decides to add this option at a later time? |

I have the ambient air package and unless you care for the occasional flowery scent coming from the AC it's a complete waste. Also, not even the manual fits in the glove compartment with this package. Luckily the armrest is pretty big, and I keep all my stuff there instead.

Ordered my x3m40i yesterday with 21' wheels. Couldn't sleep thinking about the possibility of needing a winter set as soon as the car as delivered! all the hassle and cash.
has anyone found all season tires for the 21' wheels? seems ONLY summers are available everywhere in the staggered set. Should i be this concerned in philly? maybe i can run the summers all winter if i avoid the snow (i know that's a whole other bag of worms) i'm considering running back to the the 19' all seasons before the build is submitted. the 20' inch wheels only come in summers on the configurator too....so it's 21' or 19' for me only. .............but I fell in love with the car on 21's. i know this has been revisited but I didn't know there were no all seasons for the 21' anywhere? |

Because I ordered the M Sport Differential, I had to get the summers, so being in New Jersey, I will be in the same boat as you (though with wheels that are much less attractive than yours ). I have only barely used summer tires during cold temperatures and don't want to take any risks, so I will have different tires mounted for the winter. Less desirable than a separate winter set, but since the wheels will be going back after 3 years, I am not too worried.

Nice car mate! Got car envy but hopefully not for too long. I’m in Sydney and haven’t seen many M40i’s about yet, how you finding the ride quality with those gorgeous 21’s and our crappy roads? Now you’ve had time to play do you have any local advice with other options you got/should have got?

You do not want to run summers below 40 degrees F. Its not just about the snow... Having winters and summers also gives you the added benefit of not wearing a single set down so quick with mileage.. if you like the 21" then get them and suck up the cost of getting winters. You will kick yourself later if you do not. Additionally all seasons suck all year. They are not even comparable to summers/winters. They just do it all adequately but not well. If you are leasing that changes things dramatically. I this case just get the 19". No point in spending all that money just to like the 21" for a few years then turn it in. In that case the 19" are pretty enough JMHO |

plus the potholes and the 21" tire prices. Guess i'm surprised to see such limited tire availability and at $500+ per corner price tag. Has anyone seen reasonably priced performance tires for the 21" ? thanks |
