2012 X3 Tech says Computer Needs Replaced

Hey Guys Newbie here with major problems.

It all started with a Drivetrain Malfunction message, after changing coils, plugs the Valvetronic Actuator Motor and the alternator, my Tech tells me the computer is malfunctioning and causing the alternator to overcharge close to 20 volts.

What kind of damage am I looking at here? Prices? Used Computer? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did your tech not tell you a price? If the tech is the same person who threw all those parts at it first, I would be very skeptical of the tech. A failing computer will store some fault codes, or reading the system will show some irregularities. He sounds like he's guessing. You don't say who it is. Is this a dealer, a BMW specialty indy, or a guy who also fixes Ford F150s?
