I like his videos. And he mentions one thing we all found out by now... X3MC feels and drives more like an M3 rather than an SUV.

For me AutoTopNL makes best reviews because they focus on drive and how car feels and behaves.

I agree. Max's videos are always well informed and entertaining. Not to mention, I love his autobahn runs!

He's wrong about it being awful on UK b roads though.

What is wrong with UK B roads? Are they that bad?

Think joe achilles review was way of the mark regarding how harsh the ride is definitely no need for a cushion on your head.

Was worried about ride but found it no worse than my M3 and far better than my 335I touring definitely nothing to be concerned about it seems a lot of fuss about nothing

For me it’s not hard but choppy. I find if I hit a bump with both wheels at the same time its fine. My issue is hitting undulations/bumps on the side of the road only affecting one wheel, this makes the car very very choppy. (my roads are narrow “A” & “B” and poor quality) I suspect the ARBs are huge and very stiff. More evidence of this is the video I watched the other day where on cornering the car lifts its unloaded front wheel suggesting the ARB is a monster. No surprise how flat this thing corners. I actually find it comfier with suspension in sport which dampens the choppiness albeit making the car a bit stiffer overall.
To back this up, if I drive the main road to Aberdeen (decent “A” road) the car is comfy enough, on the other hand if I take the back road (Mixture of poor “A” & “B” roads with no coppers) the ride is just about unbearable by the time I drive 50 miles or so to Aberdeen.

Wonder if I might change the ARBs to the X3M40i ones. My car will never hit the track and I don’t drive daft on the roads, so other than a comfort increase I doubt I would notice any drop off in performance?

It depends really if the B road has been looked after! Let’s say the British do not look after roads very well. More pot holes than zits in a teenagers face some times.

His review was farcical in terms of the ride, I guess he was looking for views and trying to be funny but it's not a factual review compared to my experience.

Thanks for sharing the link, oz555. Their Reviews are usually very balanced and objective, and this one is no exception IMO.

After 4,500 miles in our X3MC, I've yet to be disappointed in its utility, performance and handling (including the suspension over a variety of road conditions). Still looking for any chance I can find to take her for a spin!

I hear you. Just one hour ago from my household....

WIFE: Oh no, we're out of peas, and I'm making baby food. Now what do I do?

ME (aloud) : No problem. I'll run down to the grocery store at the bottom of the hill and grab some.

ME (in my mind) : Woo-hoo, another excuse to hit the curves for 15 minutes before the sun goes down. Lucky me!

Then you return home some time later, only to find you've forgotten the peas.

side note, drove a x3MC for a week last week and I love it! of course it sounds biased yes but nonetheless that thing is a rocket and super fun

I am in "M1" (sport plus everything except MDM) 100% of the time. It's firm (as an M car should be) but not harsh. Ya don't buy an M car for a Lexus like ride. But even my wife doesn't complain about it!! And that says a lot!! I just have to remember to ease on the throttle more when she is in it due to neck problems 😂😂

Decent review. My exhaust does have burbles and pops all the time in sport plus (which I drive in exclusively) I'm wondering if the UK models were sent with suppressed exhaust sound? Could it be weather conditions? It's always mild here in Los Angeles....as far as harsh or hard riding suspension; it's perfect for me because I like cornering etc with almost zero body roll and the stiffer ride is sportier....my settings are sport plus steering; sport plus exhaust; sport engine/transmission on the middle selection.

All European (EU) X3m's have a OPF system, hence exhaust note is subdued

I was surprised at his commentary on how rough it was. I don't remember that but then again this was after driving an M2C so how to say. You can see the camera bouncing when he's on the autobahn runs, more so than it usually is in other car so he might be in to something. I'd have to drive it again

Not sure but I think that EU spec car has stiffer suspension than US version
