Great to start seeing everyone's G01s rolling into the Dealerships (and gas stations!)!
Just a few pictures from this morning of the 'Welcome Light Carpet' which apparently debuted back in 2015 in the 7 series, with an interesting article about the technology: https://newatlas.com/welcome-light-c...ens-bmw/39805/ . A similar design form is found in the interior with the front outer A/C vents and back by the cargo release as well. |

Quite the chameleon for sure! It is our same G01, Dark Graphite Metallic, just in different lighting conditions. I've put three of our photos together with one from the BMW Online Owner's Manual (at the top right) which inserts your X3's color into the picture once you provide the VIN (or at least I'm assuming it does, otherwise it would be quite the coincidence). The density of the metallic flakes seems so high and the mirror finish is so well done, it seems it almost never really looks the same! Top left was at the Dealership late afternoon under their in-house lighting, bottom left was 730 AM in the early dawn light, and bottom right is 620PM in the Fall late afternoon sun.

And as an aside for those not experienced with HUDs (we weren't), polarized sunglasses don't work with the HUD as it made the image for her almost completely non-existent. As we enjoyed fishing over the years all of our sunglasses were polarized but she couldn't see the HUD, but she just received her non-polarized FedEx today and they work fine, so just a heads-up (no pun truly intended). |

My 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE had a matte plastic wood-pattern trim, it looked nice but it was obviously plastic. I was concerned that this would look like a printed pattern or be otherwise mistaken for something like you'd see in the Toyota, but it looks really nice in person. At least on the 5 series You can feel the texture of the wood.

I think the sunglasses themselves are also an element, as the direction/angle of the polarization can make a difference. I know people have complained about not being able to see certain center console elements with polarized glasses, but I've never had this kind of problem with my particular glasses. |
