Aliexpress Spoiler Opinions

Hello all, I am looking at this M Performance style spoiler from Aliexpress. Has anyone tried this one, and if so, what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks.

Looks pretty neat to me. Might consider this for my 19' 40i.

I'd like to see quality and fitment before going any further. It looks identical but it also looks like they're just using OEM pics so who knows how it actually looks and fits.

Look at the feed back of buyers for these spoilers. I nearly purchased one as the cost compared to OEM is unbelievable.

One buyer showed pictures of it arriving broken and cracked and the fitment as poor due to it not being curved enough at one end. I’ll try and find the feedback and update this post.

In the end on such a visible item on a car that I payed at lot of money for I went OEM and of course the quality and fitment is spot on.

Edit:

I can’t find the review, there are so many sellers selling this style of spoiler now. I would suspect they are all made by one manufacturer and supplied to all.
Take a look at my post https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...&postcount=172
I know it’s expensive but I would go with an F97 spoiler. You get both parts then for the same cost as the G01 part. You get to keep your original roof spoiler unmolested and can then replace and sell on the roof spoiler when you eventually sell on your car.

I ordered a mid trunk spoiler from Aliexpress, it arrived broken in 4 places and refused me any compensation or money back. Poor service in my opinion.
I for one won’t buy anything similar again unless they improve on how their items are packaged for international shipping.

CT Carbon has one in the UK, unsure of quantity or if it’s a Chinese import?

Sorry for bumping an old thread but was considering buying the F97 spoiler but had a question. I have a 23 M40i that we took delivery in yesterday and it’s in a more rare color, I think it was called Battleship Grey, have to double check myself on the window sticker when it stops raining. If I wanted to keep the existing grey part and just add the gloss black spoiler lip, would that work or is it required to use the gloss black spoiler in order to use the flow through lip from the 51192471091 kit? I’m not sure if the black spoiler in the kit is the same shape as the OEM M40i one.

I would reach out to IND, while pricey they will advise you best and set you up with exactly what you prefer.

I haven’t bought from IND but all they are doing is selling on an OEM part at an increased price. Doesn’t make sense to buy this part from them unless you want it part painted.

The black spoiler supplied for the competition is identical to a standard OEM M40 spoiler.

Yes you could fit just the flow through M40 spoiler to your car. The gloss black spoiler supplied when ordering for an X3M competition is to make it the same as the standard M40 spoiler which the flow through part fixes to. But for the same cost why wouldn’t you buy the competition version?

The standard X3M comp spoiler is more sculpted at each end and the flow through spoiler wouldn’t fit to it hence the M40 spoiler also being supplied under the completion spoiler part number in gloss black as opposed to your original spoiler in body colour.

If you fit the flow through spoiler properly as per the instructions it’s permanent. So if you sell the car the spoiler goes with it and you’ve lost all that you paid for it as it wouldn’t increase the cars resale price.

This is why I went for the competition part number spoiler as it comes with the standard M40 spoiler free. I’ve stored my original car coloured spoiler. When I sell the car it’s a 15 minute job to swap them back over and I can sell on the flow through spoiler which would fit any X3 from 2018 onwards and get some money back.

Thanks for the help and think I am following along. So if I just wanted to install the M Competition lip to my factory grey M40i spoiler, is 51192471091 still the best part to buy or is there a cheaper way to just get the lip since I don’t want/need the gloss black spoiler?

For me at my local main dealer 51192471091 which are the two spoilers for the competition model was the same price as the single flow through spoiler 5119246432 listed by BMW for an M40.

The only way to go cheaper is non OEM through AliExpress.

All other sellers that I found that sell the OEM spoilers were more expensive than the main dealer.

Got it, thanks. Does the gloss black spoiler have any value if I bought the 51192471091 kit and tried to sell resell just the spoiler (I would use the lip)?

I’m sure it would have some value. Somebody somewhere might need to replace their spoiler.
