Wondering what difference there is concerning the displays shown on the HUD?

Do the new 2020 show the tachometer/rev limit on the hud??

Not so. It's an iD6 vs iD7 thing rather than an MY19 vs MY20 thing, but there're actually a number of small differences that (like many things about the MY20) add up to a meaningful improvement. Off the top of my head, here's what I remember is different:

• It has somewhat cleaner design with a thin straight line demarking the top and bottom sections.
• There's more detailed nav map that pops up as you're approaching the next turn and it has a moving arrow denoting the position of your car. So it's much easier to discern exactly which turn to make.
• The Sat Radio list (and maybe other music sources) displays two lines - one with the station name and another with as much of the currently playing song's artist and title as will fit.
• There's a "sport display" with a linear tach.

There's a YouTube video out there showing some or all of this. If I can find it, I'll post a link.

EDIT: In German, but you'll get the gist of it. It's showing the new 3's HUD, but the iD7 X3/4 is the same.

Just ordered G01, but I heard G01 does not have the full ID7. Is the HUD the same as the new 3 series?

How do you activate tacho? I have ID6 - is it an ID7 or coding feature? I certainly don't have any options for that :-(

With iD7, it's an option in the HUD menu. It's called something like "Sport Display". I don't think it was available in iD6 except in the real M cars. You can see the iD7 linear HUD tach in the vid in this post at around 11:45.

Don't be concerned, in my view, it's not especially useful, it just clutters the display.

I agree. I love HUD but have the tach turned off because of clutter.

I didn't know that was possible. I'm still not a fan of the tach in HUD, but I do love that the HUD font is the same as the IP font. In my OCD mind, the difference between the two fonts drives me nuts!
