I carry an old blanket, any muck, just shake it off and fold it up and it lives in the boot (trunk) Cost = Zero

Just this week I lifted the boot floor and I had an umbrella in the boot and right up to the rear of the seats. When I lifted the floor cover the umbrella got caught and forced the gas strut top fixing away from its seating underneath.

I had to gorilla glue it back in place, trim off the excess when expanded and cured and luckily you would never know. It's a proper strong fix so now all is well.

I use a non slip thin rubber matting to stop items sliding about, but I don't carry anything too dirty, too often. if I do, I lay a thick sheet in the boot to protect the floor.
Would you share source, where to buy such thing? Or a name that it's advertised with ?

Hi yes, sorry. Please see photos below and link here for something similar. Just get it big enough to fit your boot and cut to size with scissors.

Sturdy and looks to be well made.

However, if you do haul a lot of bulky, dirty (landscape type) items, would highly recommend always using a heavy duty tarp on top regardless of the quality mat. Makes it extremely easy to keep the back end clean, and the added thickness seems to also keep mats in good shape regardless of the load type (as in the heavy, sharp-edged boulders I've carried). Here are a few pictures of the old OEMs (which are now in the attic but look new) and the WeatherTech in action with a tarp.

...or you could buy a ute!

Buy a budget mat. I bought a Cool Liner. £45 in UK.
Mine has turned up sides to contain liquid spills, does the job. Used stick and stick Velcro to keep it in place.

But no, to both. Our X3s have been able to do everything we've asked of them over the years, and I like the ability of internal carrying capacity rather than external. And a pickup wouldn't be much fun at the Strip.

Ahh...yes, I did mean utility/pickup

But the M40i's a fine and fast pickup anyway!

Hate how the oem ones slides around when unloading stuff out of the trunk. Doesn't stay in place. Thinking of adding Velcro double sided tape but don't want to ruin the trunk carpet.

I have the same issue with my X4 (G02) OEM luggage mat and the dealership indicated they've received a replacement part that's made of rubber instead of plastic to replace it on the X3 (G01), but not for mine yet. It looks more like the WeatherTech one.

Agree with the Weathertech rear cargo mat and a heavy duty moving tarp for the rear cargo area if you are carrying heavy or dirty items in the back.

Made in the USA!

You can cheap out or you can go big and spend a lot - but you will never beat a WeatherTech. There are a couple of okay mats but WeatherTech consistently fits and protects better and generally for less money.

I have had weathertech in my Q5 before. Very happy with the fit but the plastic material does not retain the clean look after a period of time. But I would still consider it.

Moved to 3D Maxpider and fit is excellent, and just by looking at the material/texture I can see that this will not be a problem, and looks good after about a year.

I just fit my 3D maxpider cargo liner and my tuxmat floor liners over the past weekend. +1 for the maxpider on my 2022 X4. Fits perfectly! I also do have a large tarp just in case, but I haven't used it with my X4 yet.

I've had weather tech before and those mats are great, but as mentioned above they're hard to keep looking very clean after a while, and they don't have the premium look of the tuxmats and maxpider liners. Weathertech definitely looks more utilitarian than the others. In terms of durability and performance I think tuxmats, 3d maxpider, and weather tech all perform pretty much the same.

3d Maxpider is also conveniently sold on Amazon

Does the 3D Maxpider cargo liner cover the tiedown rails on the sides? I've seen other photos where it is covered but in the ones in this thread they don't seem to be.

There is a model that does not cover the rail.

Where are you guys finding specs/details on these? The 3D website doesn't even list the Maxpider for the X3:
