WTB: M40i Gloss Black Front Boomerangs

Hi this is a want to buy or trade thread.

I am looking for gloss black front boomerangs to replace the cerium around the fog lights.

If anyone is parting out their car and would like to sell theirs or if you would like to switch to cerium please let me know I am very happy to trade.

I will pay for shipping for 1 way to me or both way shipping if were trading anywhere in the US.

Yup ordered mine the other day. So the cerium will be for sale.

Same. I just went with autoteknik on the vents i think. All others after searching ebay and hearing stories. I know you get what you pay for but this pricing is way too steep. But if we keep buying it. Lol they keep the price up. Oh well

Hope this helps, you can get the OEM front trim piece with gloss black boomerang from BMW for the X4m40i (fits perfectly) for around 320 or less with the BMW CCA discount.

I took the front trim boomerang pieces to a local body shop and they charged me VERY nominal to paint the boomerang pieces gloss black. They did warn me that the cerium pieces are chrome coated so it might be prone to premature chipping but just ask the paint shop to use an epoxy primer for best adhesion. I did the mirror caps too the same way except painted body color. If you can take the down time of having stuff get painted you will literally save hundreds.

These appear to be for the M340i which is not the same model..?

Are you sure? If you put the part number in the website it shows up as x3 m40i.

Had BMW Parts Pro.com checked on these parts and supply them by VIN. They had assure me these are the correct ones for my vehicle, and apologize for mislabeling them...

I'm having my wheels professionally painted gloss black and they are also painting the Boomerangs. Said it they will hold up as well as the paint on the car.

Thanks bud. I already took care of it. As a year ago there were no options. Today there are multiple ones.

Hey, any issues with the painted boomerangs? Thinking of doing that with mine or wrapping them in black.

I ended up finding a pair on ebay for $100. Perfect fit, and nice and glossy. That said if you can find someone to paint them with auto grade paint that should work fine. Problem is they would need to dry for at least a couple of days before driving with them.

Had mine wrapped by my detailer who also did my ceramic coating, 6+ months in and they are just fine

He charged me 150 for both, kind of expensive tbh but it wasn't worth the hassle for me

$150 per boomerang or in total? I think Ima just wrap them... It beats paying $400 for them on IND.
