Reset trip distance only

Is there any way to just reset the trip distance, please?

I’ve looked in the manual and it only mentions reset of the “individual” reading which is trip distance, average speed, mpg etc.

For work business trips, I want to reset the trip mileage only.

I’ve read on here about a hidden reset button, but it’s so well hidden I can’t find it! I have the new Live Cockpit Pro by the way.

Thank you!

You can either use the left stalk, scroll through by pressing until you come to Trip/Total mileage and hold button until the trip zeros
The "Hidden Button" is bottom left of the Rev Counter.
Hope this helps Sorry Markee, just read you have the Live Cockpit so it could be different to mine, but it's worth checking

The trouble with the left stalk is it resets everything, mileage, average mpg, average speed etc.

Is the reset button to bottom left of Rev counter for the newer Live Cockpit Pro dials?

Thank you for your quick reply.

I've had the same issue. Can only reset the total miles and not just the trip mileage. Ball buster when doing business mileage everyday

No, its on the older display too. Not sure, whether it also resets the mpg. Never paid attention to that.

Take a photo of the miles at the start and end of the trip. What amazing tech progress! Serious, surely there is a way to zero just the trip....madness!

How about the trip computer on the I-Drive display. That's what I use. The left stalk also works on my 2014 and 2017 BMWs.

tested. If you press the button on the instrument cluster, you clear the trip mileage (shown in the cluster only!). If you rest trip meter in iDrive, you clear every value that shown there - avg speed, mpg, mileage, travel time.

The left stalk should and has on my last four BMW's delete Trip Milege/MPG?Average Speed Individually, as I said above this is done by pressing the left stalk until what you want to delete appears

What button on the instrument cluster? As I said in my original post, I have Live Cockpit Pro, which looks like the photo, do you have the same? If so, where is the button please as I cannot see one?

Sorry, I misread that. Don't now about the new panel, I have the older one.

That’s not how it works, when you press the BC button it cycles through the different widgets as per the YouTube video below (35 secs in) and not each bit of data.

In older BMWs, you could cycle through each value individually using the BC button. In the new ones, it’s different. And I don’t think you can reset mileage alone. At least, i haven’t found a way yet without resetting mileage, fuel efficiency etc together by long pressing the BC button.

Obviously I am not on the same wavelength as I have the older version where you can delete individually

I used to have an F11 5 series, so much easier with the old system! I love the new system, but it’s very frustrating when you can’t do something simple like just resetting the trip mileage!

You can reset the individual counter so the trip counter stays as it is.

Ok, it can be done...but it’s really convoluted vs a simple reset by a button. The UI is not great for this very regularly used function.

Individual vs trip terminology is confusing too.
