Private test day at Bandimere Speedway. Max Well FYI

Pressures: Front 27, Rear 27 (Conti's)
Spare and tools out
10 gallons of 100 (Sunoco GT), 4 miles on the clock of 91 (less than 1 gallon): let's call it 99 octane
Sunroof
No Tune
Cold as heck this morning and throughout the day, high 30's into the 40's.
Track elevation 5800'
DA ranged from 5200' to 6800' from what I saw throughout the day.

Slips below:
First 10 are my drag runs, 6th run was my best (and check out the Dragy screenshot). If anyone questions if Dragy isn't spot on, this should settle that. Near dead on.

Last 2 runs were roll races, just figured I'd include them here.

Thanks for sharing, forza1976 - great when you have your own private strip!

I'm attaching your full logbook of 21 runs for documentation, but as can be seen, it gets cumbersome to view. So I'm planning on attaching only the top 8 for everyone as their logbook grows as it'll make viewing and analysis easier (also attached).

I'd also like to leave it up to each Driver as to which run they wish to have in their Group's Leaderboard. Instinctively, it seems that everybody will choose the fastest ET, but some may actually wish to have their best performance run shown instead (which isn't necessarily always the fastest ET given maybe a slower 0-60' takeoff). Example - a strong argument could be given to placing forza1976's round 777 which clearly shows the strongest performance across the board, rather than round 185 which had the fastest ET but slower trap speed and interval times.

So many runs, man Max Well thanks again for this. Awesome to have it in one place. Did you by chance see my Dragy registered the exact ET and MPH as the slip. Pretty amazing.

Happy to help out.

I saw your Dragy comparison - it captures ET and trap speed really well. Last year I did a comparison of my runs which I shared here: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=68

Interestingly, it didn't capture the slope as well, at least for my small study, which I shared here: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=46

The latter is why don't view Dragy results as reference (as a sanctioned Drag Strip can be inferred to have a reasonably level and consistent surface which allows apples-apples comparison). That, and it also provides date, time, and location to allow others to confirm the reported DA.

But it is an excellent tool for those tuning and wishing to see results without having to wait for a track day.

Shearing my Draggy results, did a run few days ago with humidity around 75% temp 78F . First time to launch the car.
2020 X3MC, 21" Conti Moon roof no spare tire, stock tire pressure, running Bootmod3 OTS E30 with 91 octane just under half tank. Note: the down slope shown in the slip is not noticeable in the street.

Thanks for sharing, FastPanther - good numbers. Apologies I don't have any knowledge of Qatar's drag strip facilities, but is there a sanctioned strip where runs can be recorded formally with slips? Will be happy to add you to the spreadsheets if that is an option, but if not, will still enjoy seeing your Dragy results!

We do have one and next week we do have a test and tune day, if things goes well I will be running the car and check my first attempt.

Excellent. You've already provided great vehicle details for your Dragy run, so if you can share similar information when submitting your formal slip, and be sure to include all the variables needed to calculate the DA (Temp, humidity, and barometric pressure and track altitude), I'll be able to easily set you up on the spreadsheets. To take the overall St1 Leaderboard, you just need to beat GT500R 's time of 10.848s.

Just a quick run on humidity of 70% temperature of 24C, same setup of OTS E30 on 1/4 tank. Next we'll be to reduce the tire pressure. 😅

Curious what you're aiming for on the tire psi. I'm still looking at 4-5 weeks before I can get back out to the Strip, but I'm thinking I may skip over the 33F/32R and just go straight to 33F/30R. Given the estimated tire patch study I did, it seems 33F/29-30R should be pretty well balanced, at least static (which we know goes out the window at launch).

I'm planning to go with 33-32F/30R not sure if I will reduce it more it will cause any traction issues.

Sounds like a good plan. Another aspect I'd like to analyze is weight vs octane importance (suspect octane is far more important at this point). I plan on having only a 1/4 tank or less of Shell 93 octane when I get to the Strip, make a few runs, then if I'm able to buy Sunoco 260 GT (100 octane) while there, I'll fill up completely to max out the octane as much as possible, and then run some more.

I would think if DA is good and with 100 octane on board, <11.6s should be possible.

Just came back from the test and tune and this is my first time to actually drive the car in the track, I had full tank of E30 with 98 octane, full interior with the light weight battery, temperature 28C which is 82F humidity is 70% DA is 560m.
I managed to run 5 runs some were with launch control others were without.
I started with tires setup of 33F/30R and this was the part that I didn't expect the track with n here is well prepared and the grip crazy so here is what happened.
First run was without LC and tires were 33F/30R and the car did 11.6@123.81. Looking at the draggy graph there was a big drop in the acceleration. So I decided to go for another run with LC.
Second run I had same tire setup and activated the LC and managed to get 11.44@123.52. Looking at the draggy graph again the drop in the acceleration is still there so I decided to adjust the tire pressure and to increase is installed. To 35F/33R.
Third run I managed to get 11.16@124.57, and noticed that the drop is still there but it was slightly better. So I decided to increase the tire pressure again to 38F/38R
Forth run unfortunately is didn't launch the car is was destructed with the other car so it was 11.4@124.65.
Fifth run 11.26@124.08. And I decided to call it a day as tomorrow will be the qualifying.
[IMG][/IMG]
In the way home a came to a spot were I wanted to check the car in the street again and managed to get 10.93 on full tank with 38F/38R and 60" of 1.7 there was no drop in the acceleration graph! So I guess the prepared surface of the track is so good to a point it slowed the car by effecting the acceleration big time.
Tomorrow plan will be to increase the air pressure to 42F/42R and give it a try 😅.

I was able to look up the track altitude (60 ft) and the barometric pressure, temp, humidity for each run so I could calculate a DA for each. Really helpful if this can be shared when submitting slips if available. I had some trouble reading the interval times as the image was slightly blurred even under mag, so if any of these are incorrect just let me know. I won't add you to the St1 Sheet yet as you indicated more data is coming after you run today.

Thanks for contributing, FastPanther

[EDIT NOTE: in a PM from FastPanther just a bit ago (0938AM, 6 Nov 2020), he indicated that even though the slips state 'AM', all runs start at 5'PM', so I'm going to have to go back and re-calculate the DA information for this data series, so would disregard this image. Also note he updated the images so the times are much clearer now, and the corrected data will be included in a post later today, 6 Nov 2020.]

Thank you for the sheet, today I added more air pressure and set all four to 45 PSI , so I was able to do two rounds in the qualifying unfortunately only one was a good run and managed to get 11.076@124.4. Temperature was 27C which is 81F with humidity off 60%.
I have added more tire pressure for tomorrow as it will be the final.

Good run, I had similar conditions (a bit worse TBH) when I ran the 10.8

Although this time your slip numbers are clearer, there is no date/time stamp, and without the Barometric Pressure I couldn't calculate the DA. But with the temp and humidity it does fall around the 0730AM data point, so I was able to get an estimated 29.98" Hg and arrive at a DA.

On closer analysis your interval times don't make sense for run 992 from 2 days ago, and I suspect it is mainly the 330' time as the 60'-330' is too fast and the 330'-660' is too slow. So need you to share another photo with clearer data points (I had PM'd you regarding this). If you just edit your post and delete that image of all five slips and share a clearer version of them I can take it from there. Either that, or clarify in a post what those numbers actually are. (Even at 400% mag I couldn't tell some of the numbers)

Are your races head-head first across, or is it based on times? And curious if you used LC? Just wondering as your R/T from yesterday was only 0.406s, not the >2.0s of your other LC runs from the day before? Still with DSC off?

Thank you Max, I have amended the attachments, the car is set to:
DSC off/ M xDrive 4WD/Engine Sport plus/ chassis Sport/ Steering Sport plus / transmission S3.

Much clearer images, FastPanther - thanks for sharing as it did change a fair number of times (in light yellow highlight). Also, appreciate your private msg indicating the times are all actually PM, not AM as the slips indicate. Thankfully, as your region appears remarkably stable through time with its atmospherics, the DA remains pretty much stable through the 3 hours of slips.

I'll add you to the St1 Board once I know you've finished submitting slips and when your fastest time can be discerned.
