After driving this vehicle, I'm surprised the demand is so low because it's awesome. Granted it is not as luxurious as I was expecting -- still a lot of plastic that you can't cover (no full leather option). I would def. have optioned it for $3500 or whatever it was. It must just be priced into that segment where people are not willing to spend $80k on an X3, even if it's an M badge on it and just don't care about that extra performance. The m40i is actually pretty quick with a sub 4 1/2 second 0-60 in reviews and can be picked up pretty damn cheap used ($40's) CPO with low mileage (and lease cheaper). So I'd be shocked if people didn't, on paper at least -- look at the X3M vs the X3 m40i and go oh -- half second difference and $15-$20k more, no thank you.
Also, I wish there was a site that could track inventory fluctuations like this across the nation or to a specific area even. There are sites like cargurus etc but they don't seem to track all dealers. It would be cool to see. Finally, one more thing -- most people that want M cars probably already have an M car and are not going to jump into this until they see what the new M3/M4 comes in at. So there's probably that causing issues too. We're kind of in limbo land there. Many folks DD their M3's. And I doubt many people can afford to have two M cars in the garage without their wife freaking =). Either way... all good things for when I eventually go to lease I guess.

Some mid Atlantic too Issue is the winter is upon us and it's 3500 plus squish for a winter set. The tire options are abysmal and really no choice for AS set keeping the oem spec size. |

Gotcha. That's certainly a funny issue considering it's an AWD SUV and a major oversight on BMW's part. I'm sure Porsche has the same issue with their Turbo models but when you are spending > $100k and buying a Porsche, you kind of expect to be nickel and dimed given their online configuration tool.

Probably will. I just don't see much value in any of that. The laser lights are cool I guess if you're driving in very dark rural areas frequently. I will likely use car play all the time anyway, so for me the live view/idrive doesn't matter too much. I kind of doubt the laser light will be free, either, so I wouldn't option it.

That's what this is about right!? I mean don't get me wrong, if it's not a crazy price I would take a car that had it given it won't really adjust the lease much.

Feels like they're struggling to shift here in the UK - a large dealership is now punting them out at £549/month with a £549 deposit. Crazy value! Works out at £77k list with a £20k discount and £34k residual.

Once Jan and early Feb hit, any sitting in a dealership will probably be even a stronger discount Especially on a real snowy day or week. Remember to negotiate enough off to pay for your the winter tires a least. Or throw them in to drive away. |

As noted by others. I'd tend to attribute a lot of this to the absence of a factory all-season tire option on what is a daily-driver type vehicle as opposed to a 3rd car just for fun in nice weather. With much of the country experiencing temps below 45 degrees during part of the year, summer-only tires are impractical unless you want to go to the bother of switching back and forth between winter tires twice annually. Where temps are already below that transition point, it'd be unsafe to even drive a new summer-tired vehicle home from the dealership.

Pretty sweet -- looks like with minimal cash outlay (~$1500) I should be in the $800's before tax for a highly optioned X3MC (~84k). Only will get better from here. Wife's 320 still has 4k miles left, so going to wait until as far into end of Dec as I can.
