An Extremely Boring 2023 BMW X3M Competition

Was this close to placing a custom Signal Green order with my local dealer until a random search brought up the above thread, with the unusual color combination of Signal Green exterior and Sakhir Orange interior. I PM'd the creator on the off chance the vehicle was still available, but I wasn't optimistic since it was absent from the usual listing websites...



But indeed it was! Deal was quickly concluded and I had it in my hands after little more than a week. Winslow BMW was great to work with and I highly recommend them.

The car basically has every option, which is what I wanted. I immediately resolved to replace the sore-thumb OEM wheels and narrow tires. Replacements are now on, they are 21" Vossen HF-2 (Gloss Black) and Michelin PS4S 296/265.



Aside from tint and various minor accessories like Cocomats, I'm not planning to mod the car except for AA non-resonated midpipes, which I have coming soon. I was sold on them after watching a few videos, since they seem to work great with the OEM exhaust and downpipes without being obnoxious.

The break-in period is annoying. Coming from a V8 I read "don't exceed 5000 RPM" and laughed, that sounds easy. How wrong I was. But from the amount that I CAN currently push the car, I think it's amazing in every way.

Now I need to think of some good personalized plates. This will be fun.

Same interior as mine, as was my M40d prior to the comp.
Love unusual exterior colours but having seen how long it took BMW to sell my M50i (1 year) that’s pictured in my profile picture, and having lost 2k on an X5 back in 2000 (first of the X5’s) because it was beige/sand coloured with very pale pastel green leather, the exact same car featured on BMW’s advertising for the new X5, I decided black was a safer option.

It got some hate from that original post but glad someone found it to enjoy. You will be happy with the AA midpipe, I did the same a few weeks back.

Congrats on your new X3MC! I've added your wheel/tire combination to the Members' listing in the Stickies [ https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1949903 ] since your Vossen HF-2 combo is different from the only other HF-2 recorded [KodiakEd has 255's up front]. Here's how it reads:

Stereolab42 : Total F97/98 for Vossen HF-2 'Gloss Black' (21x? ET?, 21x? ET?)/Michelin PS4S (265/40 R21, 295/35 R21) – wt N/A yet https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2040763

It'd help others to know the wheel specs (size and offset) in case they are considering your setup for their F97/98, so if you can possibly add those details in that thread (or here) I'll edit it and remove the question marks. And if you happened to know their weights you'd be only the 2nd of 17 Vossen combos in that list to be in the 'known weights' list [95wildtt is the only one who has provided Vossen weights so far with his HF-5's]

Found their website... did not know that existed. And they even do individual colors. Good suggestion. Not a trivial install though so it's something I'll have to ponder.

Thanks. I just found out there was somebody else who took delivery of a "watermelon" M3 earlier this year:

However, they chose "Isle of Man" metallic green instead of Signal Green. So hopefully we are both still 1 of 1!

Isle of Man green is a factory color. Signal green is a custom individual color so it is much more rare.
