400 a day? If so, they're not following chronological order of VIN numbers or ours would be done.

I called genius yesterday and I'm apparently scheduled for a 12/21 completion.

Some Ideas

I think it's more like 500 X3's a day. My guess is that the 30i's have different sequence numbers than the 40i's and are built in much larger numbers spacing the 40i's further apart than we would expect. This is speculation on my part as I have no idea how many production lines they run and what variety of models are build on the line our cars are run on. It's just my best guess based on the apparent spacing of our cars with close sequential VIN's. It's also very possible that VIN sequence is only generally followed.

I just looked at some of the X3 VINs on my dealers website and they do have different sequence (last 7 for M40 start with 0Z0 vs LE2 for the 30i)

Just called genius number. My original build date was 12/22, but now says 12/20. But he said it's likely to change again because I'm still in "production beings" state. He said the dates change often. We'll see if it jumps through the assembly tomorrow or not.

I got tired of refreshing the site.

And good point, didn't realize different X3's have diff VINs.

I just called too. My estimated completion is up to 12/21 from 12/22 when I first called on Saturday 12/15.

I hear you, the excitement sort of wears off when you realize Production Begins really means Production will begin in a week or two.

I guess they are not building X3 M40 today.
Status is not changed from production begins.
It's scheduled to be completed tomorrow. Will see.

Mine went through the entire build cycle yesterday, so there's a good chance your's will too. Though, mine has been sitting since yesterday Awaiting Carrier Assignment.

On the bright side, this could be the part where the online tracking isn't very accurate. Your dealer might have the best info. Alternatively, you car could be waiting for enough additional vehicles heading your way to fill a transporter up.

You're right, just called the Genius line and it hasn't left yet. Good news though, it's scheduled for delivery to my dealer on the 23rd.

This is my second go around. My M40i was supposed to be here two weeks ago however it somehow failed quality check and the process had to be restart. My dealer told me they would expedite it (I confirmed with genius that it is a real thing) but seems like that was a sales tactic...incredibly annoying

At least they found the issue in QC and not after it was delivered. A friend was telling me about his Merc SLC he order a couple years ago. It was held up during QC in Germany. They told him it was selected at random for more detailed testing. When it arrived it already had 110mi on the odometer and they didn't offer him anything for the week delay and added mileage.

There is hope, peeps. I was back at work from vacation this morning so could not check till I got home.

My car is now in entering assembly line, which is the 6th bullet point in the list, so I am now past "production begins". I think my vin was a bit lower than some of you but higher than greencat.

Based on this, I figure I will be done tomorrow 12/20 like they told me a week ago or so.

I will update tomorrow.

Glad you are moving along JJ. I am still in the production begins phase. Line still says completion on 12/21. Will check again a bit later this morning.

based on my car, which they told me was due 12/20 (and when I checked this morning when I got up was in "quality check" state, which is further along than when I went to bed), Your car will start sometime today.

It may do the same thing mine did. Mine started sometime yesterday when I was at work (I missed it). I checked right before I went to bed. I checked again just now, which was when I got up to get ready for work, and it had moved along.

I suspect that this could be due to the time difference between me here in CA and the factory.

Finally went to 'Entering assembly line' this morning.
Let's see how quickly it moves through the build process.

It seems like assembly is going through per VIN sequence. (for same model)

Mine changed to quality check about 30 minutes ago.
Took about 3 hrs from assembly in progress to quality check.

I was going to ask you about progress timeline, thank you.

I haven't checked since this morning, so I'm not sure when it flipped to assembly begins.
