Thank you for the pictures, they are of great help!
Could you lastly tell me if it's possible to get heating and paddles working if though my original wheel doesn't have it?

So I don't buy one with both options and in the end regret it.

I don't know anything about that. I do know some members have bought weeks with buttons for features they don't have and they just ignore the buttons, but I don't know if you can add heat or paddle shifters to a car with just a new wheel and coding. A coder might know, you can try reaching out to them.

I will, thank you for the advice.

One last question remaining: Does the heat button come with any of the other parts (for example with the trim or steering wheel) or do I need to order part no. 61318008626 seperately?

I'm asking this because I couldn't find it on the parts list that you shared.

I can't get the parts site to load at the moment, but if I recall, the actual button was the same on the 255 and 710 wheels.

So it didn't come with the steering wheel as you just used your old button?

I bought a used 710 M sport wheel whole. I tore it apart and took photos for the benefit of everyone who might want to see.

Part 3:

TL;DR - go to http://bimmergeeks.net and do a remote coding session, or find someone locally. It will be painless and simple, and worth the cost.

I'd expect the airbags to be available within the next few months, at least. Those are disposable items that would need to be replaced often as far as auto parts go.
Don't Know if you would know this or not. Currently planning on ordering a completely stock X3 M as that fits in the company car budget. Is there any possibility that if I bought the plastic cover with heating button that should be able to be plug and play?

I'm not entirely clear on your plan. I think maybe you're asking if you can order an X3M with no heated wheel and just add the button, is that it? If so, I'm fairly certain the answer is no, because there are different wheels for heat and no heat; one has an actual heating element inside and the stock does not.

Hmm, so you don't believe heating elements aren't inside a non heated wheel. I just see BMW being cheap and make them all just the same but add in the button when people option it.

Looks like you right from what I have seen non heated wheel for X3 M40 is 32-30-8-094-544 and X3 M40 heated is 32-30-8-094-548 interestingly there is a different part number for the X4 M heated which is 32-30-8-097-998.

Change the steering wheel for my 2019X4 M40I

I want to change my steering wheel to X4Mor X3M steering for my vehicle. and I found the wheels with all the buttons I need on eBay. the question is I wonder if the X3M steering wheel will fit for my vehicle. thanks a lot.~ I got the normal M steering wheel airbag if it will fit for the X3M steering wheel? and i believe the part# for the airbag was 33785572401.

Yes both will fit. You just won't be able to use the M1 and M2 buttons on the X3 M wheel

As long as you had the same ones on your original wheel. You can swap your buttons over to the X3 M wheel if you had all the same options. Also if the X3 M wheel had heat and yours had heat it will work too. As long as everything is the same

You don't have the M sport wheel so you will need to buy an airbag to swap it.

Yes. You just need to ensure the X3 M wheel also had the option for assisted driving. There is a capacitive sensor installed around the wheel to detect "hands on". If you get an X3 M wheel without that feature you will not be able to use assisted driving.
